Hi, having an intermittent starting issue where I get a click on hitting starter button, try it again and it fires up. The battery is fully charged. Secondhand relays are cheap, so I thought I'd try replacing it to see if relay was on way out. However on 2008/2009 GSAs the relay is behind the ECU under the tank (sigh), having got to the relay location there are 2 of them (identical), one is for starter, one for fog light, but does anyone know if the starter is
one on left or right?

Thanks
Phil

The starter one I think is green. My bike has being doing exactly this for a couple of years, but has never failed to start. On the occasions where I just get a click, it will fire up straight away on the second attempt. I have never worked out why it does this.

Pale green relay, my one failed due to wiring going 'green' and failing. Easy solution, cut back the wiring, solder on new connections, drop in a basic relay from any motor factors, whole job £5. Been that way for 10,000m+ now.

Roger....

The starter relay has huge cables connected to the battery and starter motor. To be fair, it's hard to confuse with any other type of relay.

I think he means the small relay under the tank that energises the main starter motor relay, on top of the starter motor. maybe?
