Hi all,
Just wondered if anyone has had a recent quote on a set of new BMW panniers with coded locks installed.
My local dealer in Trafford has quoted the RRP of £195 each plus £42.12 for a pair of coded locks (I've not tried haggling yet).
I'm hoping to get some new for a fair bit less than £432.12 really if possible.

My BMW was going to charge me about £750 for the full set but I managed to procure a set on that auction site. I have filtered with mine fully extended but you do have to take it easy. If you have not had a set on before you need to remember you have them on. My mate forgot and cause some considerable damage to both parties. I stay in Scotland and renowned for the rainy weather and I have had no difficulties with water ingress, so far.

Just had the Panniers fitted at NoG, £369.00 including lock coding.

GIVI cases are same size both sides, the LH side is packed out to go around the exhaust, so you gain more storage but the bike is even wider. As I had the GIVI 3 box system on my Caponord I went for the neater looking BMW panniers and just stayed with a GIVI box.
My boxes cost £410 with locks matched to the ignition key.

Is the BMW top box supposed to be waterproof? I know mine isn't.

I never even considered that they may not be!
I currently have Givi MAXIMA 52L topbox, but was thinking about panniers as its better to spread the weight lower.
Throw the Givi away, far to top heavy anyway loaded. then don't waste your money on system panniers which are useless and buy yourself some proper metal boxes from Touratech or Metal Mule or Vern' .........................:
nenau Filtering is no problem with metal Mule 38 litre panniers or the others unless really big capacity. As for the exxtra width of the bars all that does is put you higher up, so you can see better and take out the odd car mirriras you pass. Filtering on a GS is no different to a sports bike
