2010 GSA

Cam Sensor recall. No other issues. Much better than previous GSA, bigger smiles!

Cam sensor replacement due to flat and rough engin

Had driveshaft inspected for possible failure - non found

Just short of 7500m now without issue

except

in the summer it gets covered in dead flies:nenau

and

now it's Autumn it attracts road dirt!

This is my 7th GS and they've all done it. It's about time BMW got it sorted.

2010 GSA

Seven Countries ending at Crete. Heated grips used in France. Dashboard Icon for 1/2 or full power disappeared. Apart from that trivial thing problem free. Used not a drop of oil. In for 6000 mile servive. 95% of journeys done two up with full luggage. Fuel consumtion 47mpg but much travel at 90mph plus.

Very satisfied with bike. Looks like a long term keeper.

Just had 6K service
This is my 4th 1200 GSA and definitely the best

Started to run a little rough at 3k and some additional vibes, 6K service and cam sensor replaced and bike is now super smooth again.

Didn't like the matt grey so had her sprayed Ferrari Feriontino Mettalic Red, looks the muts nuts now - so much better than the matt grey

I am tempted by the new K1600 so keep your eyes open as there may be a very nice GSA for sale early next year with absolutely every extra you can through at it.:bounce1

GSA bought Oct '10, no major problems so far. Only 2k miles at the moment though. Only issue I did have was getting used to the gearbox, as to begin with had quite a few miss-shifts. All better now though :)

Wasn't aware there was an icon on the display for the grips. Nothing mentioned in my manual or ever appeared to indicate they are on.

Front shock

First Euro bike for me, GSA 09
70 Miles second day from new blow front shock, oil p...shing everywhere.
Bike was static at time when my mate told me oil was dripping down timing belt cover to my horror.bumpy ride in recovery truck home.

Two recalls, clutch cable reroute and front brake lines.
Now done 7600 Miles final drive has some minimal play, not sure if that is normal will keep eye on it for warranty.
In all having a blast and never tire of all day riding joy.
Will i buy another BMW,not sure the competition is waking up.

Bought mine (GSA)12 months ago with 27000 on the clock.

Done 13,000 only problem i have had was a blown brake light bulb

Copied from handbook

The heating stage you have selected
also appears in the multifunction
display.
50 % heating power
100 % heating power

For some reason cannot copy picture from pdf copy of handbook page 63:cool:

You're right - I've a std GS with the packs and the handbook does indeed indicate there is an icon on the display but I can't recall seeing it. The only difference is in my manual its a couple of pages earlier.

Mind you I never realised the indicators self cancelled or that I had a trip until I read it on here so don't trust my judgement! :augie

Mine don't, or if they do it is after a long time.

Will check next time, did not notice heated grip indicator on dash either, but seeing as my hands get warm I do not really need a dash icon for that.

2010 GSA

6 months old, circa 4k miles, today the fuel gauge ceased operations (that old chestnut), other than displaying a nice informative warning triangle and constantly flashing the word "Fuel" (despite the tank being at least half full).

Into the dealers with it at some point...

Battery died at exactly 3 year old. Funny thats when the warranty ran out.

my ten penneth

2010 GSA 600 miles engine bars replaced due to corrosion.

Bike not seen rain at that point, possibly all it took was a wet sneeze........

Replaced under warranty :D but only the rusty bits and not the whole assembly
