Nail in the front tyre....and the tyre's only done 800m:blast

Obviously I'll need a new tyre (Metzler Tourance £78 from F & B) so do I

1 Take the wheel down to Steve at F & B, taking into account it's a 100 mile
round trip.

2 Get the bike recovered to a local BM garage and get it sorted

3 See if BM Assist will plug the tyre and ride it down to F & B?

Decisions, Decisions!

Plug it yourself and ride it to tyre changer...

how is a nail in the tyre the bikes fault:confused:

dont you carry a plug kit :blast

im sure BMW assits will help;)

Get the tyre fixed. Ride it till it's worn out.

Don't waste money on a new tyre if yours can be repaired...

If it can't be repaired, shove a 'tube in there....

I'd have no hesitation in having a rear tyre repaired, but not the front.

I value my safety higher than £78.

I've got one you can borrow. Also, my mate Frank in Sabden can fit you a new tyre and I'm fairly sure he has one in stock :thumb

I'll tell you a story

I work for the orange van brigade, we got a car, we drilled around 40 holes in each tyre, total 160 punctures, we plugged all the tyres with a temp plug repair kit, then drove it round MIRA for day, on the humpy bumpy road surface, at speeds in excess of 40mph which it was designed to do.
and guess what, not one tyre went down, good eh?
So guess what tyre repair kit i take touring?
And would i plug a punctured tyre, you bet.
One of our ex patrols rode his fireblade in excess of 100 mph with a temp plug in it.
They are a hundred times tougher than you think.get out there, ride, enjoy.
