2010 gsa what petrol?

If you read the manual it suggests that the higher the octane the greater the power. This is consistent with engine management systems that can detect preignition and retard the timing when running lower octane fuels. Whether it's possible to actually notice the difference on the road other than to your wallet is open to question

At the risk of attracting the wrath of someone, my tuppence worth. I had to enquire about fuel for a 1200RT recently. The dealer said 95 RON for < 2009 bikes and 98 RON for 2010. I don't know, but isn't the GS the same engine as the RT from 2010? Also, the RT has a sticker on the tank telling you what octane rating to use - at least the one I had did.

I tend to agree, fuel it and ride it, but I wouldn't like to see someone lose a warranty claim or something....

Oh, and I would also suggest ask your dealer or read the manual for peace of mind if that's what you're after

In all fairness my dealer never told me what fuel to use when I picked up my new bike.....

.....but he did stress that I read the manual thoroughly, for everything not just the fuel, and emphasised I read it a few times to let it all sink in.

I'm pretty sure all BMW manuals have had reference to what fuel to use..along with everything else you need to know.....

.....including what oil to use!

A lot of super unleaded is only 97RON though, like BP and Total. I use shell v-power if I can find it I don't know any others that do 98???

My point really....you buy ANYTHING...you should read the manual...it'll tell you what you need to know.
