Nah, manuals are only to be consulted after you break something by doing it the 'obvious' way.

If you read the manual it suggests that the higher the octane the greater the power. This is consistent with engine management systems that can detect preignition and retard the timing when running lower octane fuels. Whether it's possible to actually notice the difference on the road other than to your wallet is open to question

I run shell v-power in all my vehicles and never had a problem with it,in a performance bike test last year they got the same results using it on their test bike as they did by fitting a power commander on the same bike,same day,same dyno.
Well, I am glad to see so many positive responses?
In future maybe I shouldn,t ask for advice from the learned men and women on this site.
