2010 key question?

Hi folks,
I have a 2010 TC,
i need to get a key as I only have 1..is there a chip in it?
is it a dealer job?

Having read a whole bunch of posts around the antenna ring around the ignition I would say yes.

If you goto your local dealer with your V5 and the bike as they need to take pics of the bike. You need your licence as well, then think it’s like £40 and they get one from Germany for you.

Simple enough and not expensive but security understandably is strict.

yep Old mate is correct I got 2 sent from BMW Germany to here in Adelaide, Australia, Apparently BMW cut 6 spare keys for every bike and keep them in Germany and thats the 2 i got sent to me here, I think it was less than $100 AUD.

if they know u and the bike just ask them to get you one - no paperwork required - 3 days lead time !

genuine real key cut and coded by experts - not a Chinese bit of bacofoil, cut wrongly by a teenager who doesn't even know what a key is for, and the chip from a 1979 action man

got the key from Hursts BMW in Belfast...no probs..very professional service...the bike was sold new from them and fully serviced so all went well
