Hi All,

New and only had it a day and 170 miles but on tickover it runs really rough and even the petrol tank shakes as well as the indictors. once on the move its been great and im well happy. Its going in for its first service on Tuesday before a 5 day trip abroad on Wednesday so dont wanna turn up and they say we need a part.

The ride is not affected So just wanted to no if anyone else had this. I am not sure what is done with regard to the Cam sensor or if its been done and if this is a type of problem associated with the sensor. No cuting out tho.

Its just advice now, i promise to phone the dealer :D

Now Now Mr K thats not advice, thats a statement :D

Okay then: On my 52,000 mile model it still shakes like a soggy Labrador at tickover; The screen, indicators, fog-lights and sat-nag all leap about like junkies overdue for a fix.

It'll probably smooth up a bit at the first service when they balance the thingummies and set all the other stuff...but a wee bit of shaking is consistent with the boxer motor.

:beerjug:

My 2010 GSA can be a bit rough on tickover ,try the TPS reset .Turn it on ,turn the throttle slowly twice then turn back off.its only done a few miles and needs to bed in.They get smoother with 10000 miles on them.Fear not it sounds normal for a running in bike:thumb2

Tried that, still the same, i was just trying to rule out the can sensor.

Both my 08gs and 09GSA were as smooth as babies bums from the offset, well not that smooth but it is already runnin smoother ( on the go ) than my 09GSA that i put 11k on. :thumb2

Im just worried with all that shakin at the lights i might get get excited :mmmm

You're welcome to compare it to mine at the Ace on Sunday morning (so long as you arrive before 11) :thumb

Cheers Sam :thumb2

Another 200 miles on it with Tom 2moro may help, i hope he can keep up with me running it in.....:)

My 59 plate is v rough on idle. Pull the clutch in and it becomes super smooth. Diagnosed as gearbox input shaft bearings fooked. Now thats a big warranty job for next month.

(add that to 2 x Final Drive Bearings to boot. Flipping thing is made of cheese; my March 09 bike doesn't seem to like the fact its done 19K miles, a load of off roading, commuting and london riding).

I called Vines today to warn them of my plight, i didnt want to give them a shock when i turned up for the 1st service 2moro as i am leaving for france on wednesday.

Even tho mine has the new cam sensor they said some still do require throttle balancing.

Bike is better 3 days and 500 miles in :thumb2
