Does anyone know if its possible, or a supplier of the the rear brake caliper pistons only? I can't seem to get find them selling on their own, just the whole caliper unit

I typed in model then piston and a page came up on there site. Sorry failed to copy and paste

just tried and failed again. Give them a ring, good company to deal with.

You could try powerhouse automotive. They refurbish most motorcycle calipers and hold spares accordingly.

I THINK,the rear 1200 caliper is the same as f650 front/ ktm/Honda fairly generic brembo caliper, measure the caliper pistons.
Powerhouse will be able to supply the parts!

BMW sell seal kits for the back wheel at under £20. For the front wheels you can only get the full kit with pistons and seals at £120 (£60 per caliper).

Cheers. I replaced the seals and serviced the rear last November. Bmw have said the rear is binding and will try to free it up but if not they will probably want to replace the caliper. I know that the tip of the piston ceramic is ever so slightly chipped so just trying to see if pistons available if that is indeed the cause.

I couldn't get a piston for the 800GS either. Even from Brembo.
The ceramic was almost totally crumbled away.
In the end had to get a used complete caliper from motorworks.
Bike was an '08 GS with about 50 thou miles.

Bmw are cleaning it up and getting back to me regarding pistons sold as separates or you need the whole caliper. But they are a bit stumped as my extended warranty states calipers are under warranty unless due to corrosion...since its moving somewhat and seals were done a while ago it seems they may have a rod to bear....so they are checking if it needs .... ?

No. But that wouldn't be caused by corrosion, would it? I'm just intrigued to hear what they say. Bike is booked in to step toe next week anyways. What is amazing is that the clutch leak is NOT a leak..so no work , issue there. The TPS is indeed dead and I am paying to have it replaced as it won't marry up. The one front disc is just below service level but just. But they haven't yet
spotted the oil leak in their safety check....I have however this time got them to replace the steering head, paralever bearing which they refused last time for reasons unknown....

OK, so BMW said after the cleaning that nothing was the matter with them and the pistons and seals are all dandy and fine. They didn't mention the chipping on the piston tips either so I think thats a fair cop. Brakes serviced...
