I’ve had this car for 8 years and 65000 fantastic miles; as you can see from the detail below, I maintained it to keep it longer, but now I’ve retired, I am treating myself to a new(er) car.

I have listed all the accessories and spare parts I have collected for long-term ownership; if I get the asking price these are all included (c.£600 worth).

Ideally I need to sell before the end of August. Car is in Northampton.

Specification
3.0 Litre, straight-six Diesel engine, 204BHP. Euro 5.
The car has averaged 45MPG overall in my ownership and is a great A and B-Road car with masses of torque.
Uses no oil between changes.

Space Grey metallic Silver, with Grey Dakota leather, in good condition, just a few, small, age-related marks*.
Factory panoramic sunroof (regularly greased, drains cleaned last year).
Multifunction steering wheel with gear change paddles.
Courtesy light package (in door handles).
Factory grey mats (for summer) and factory black mats (for winter).
Factory rear parking sensors.
Cruise control
Climate control
Electric windows all-round
Electric mirrors

NON-Run-Flat tyres are now fitted (Michelin Primacy 3), along with the correct space-saver spare wheel, BMW jack and wheelbrace. Much quieter ride than before.

Factory (Westfalia) electrically-deployable towbar, hidden when not in use. Sadly not working (no warning lights showing as I removed all 4 fuses - you don’t know it’s there).

Plastic boot liner.

There is a Parrot Bluetooth kit installed, but hidden out of sight since
I fitted an aftermarket 11.2” smart screen to allow Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (included in sale).
This also has front and rear dashcams built-in, see photos.

All 4 wheels were refurbished in 2021, just one small mark on the edge of one wheel and small areas of cracking in the lacquer.

The total mileage is 126K with a total of 10 services (last at 121K) including 4 at BMW Dealers (last at 101K).
I always change the oil and filter every 10K, midway between the official service interval of 20K+/2 years.
I have changed the air and pollen filters at 61K, 90K and 121K.

The car has never failed an MOT; current to Feb 2026.

Major replacements
Replaced front pulley/harmonic balancer with a Febi Bilstein one at 112K (the rubber centre fails and leaves you stranded with no alternator).
Replaced V belt at 109K, bearings/idlers were fine.
Replaced front ARB bushes and droplinks at 68K.
Replaced both rear wheel bearings at 83K.
Replaced both rear brake calipers and disks (Febi Bilstein) at 112K.
Replaced tailgate struts at 118K.
Brake fluid changed at 78K and 106K.
Coolant changed at 98K.
Air-con re-gassed at 113K.

Accessories and Parts - included if full price is paid:-
Four Style 161 17” factory Alloy wheels (match those on the car, need refurbishing).
Set of BMW OE roof bars with keys and fitting tool.
13 litres of Fuchs Titan GT1 PRO-C3 5W30 XT engine oil, meets BMW LL-04 standard.
Left and right mirror assemblies (complete but no glass) with the correct colour covers (just in case of damage!)

New Wahler OE EGR, not yet fitted.
The EGR has just started to stick when cold – again. I replaced the original with a Wahler OE at 105K.
It is fine once warmed-up. This can throw an EML, but car runs fine; easily reset with a cheap OBD11 reader.

Set of Febi Bilstein disks and pads ready to fit, but again, not yet done.
The front disks and pads will need replacing soon (had 65K out of the current set).

Unused K+DCAN interface lead – you can load Rheingold/ISTA+ software to get full BMW diagnostics (on PC only – I’m Mac…..)

* The worst is a scuff on the plastic sill/skirt (see photo) – I have a correct colour matched skirt to fit but never got around to it – included with sale.

Does this year of 3 series have a space for the space saver or do you just lay in the boot. Thanks

Short answer - no.

That’s why I bought the thinner spare wheel. It’s in a protective bag and doesn’t take up much room. There is a photo in the link above.

The jack and wheelbrace do fit under the boot floor where there is some storage.

UPDATE - I got the spare set of wheels out the back of the garage.

They are all in great shape, 1 has a small scuff, I'd say 8/10 for condition!

I must have refurbed the worst ones back in 2021 (Covid brain!)

Dramatic price drop!

I've got my new car now - even though I have insured the BMW until October, it has to go.

£3500 including all the spares.

Please PM me.

What an absolute stunner of a car. Great advertising. Somebody is getting a well minded car. Champagne motor for Lemonade money.
