Hi, I've managed to round off a couple of the bolts so would like to know what they are and where I can get replacements, hopefully without having to go to BMW...

Specifically, it's the ones that go into the subframe under the pillion seat, 2 either side of different lengths.

I promise I'll be more gentle next time..;)

Ta for reading,

JC

If you got them out take them to your local industrial fasteners place. Shouldn't cost to much to replace. Though I'd try your BMW dealer anyway for a price, you might be surprised at the price to get the correct ones.

Ive just repalced the bolts on my 06 Hex.

On the 06 there Stainless,
i got packs of 5 with the correct head for a couple of pounds a pack. via ebay

Just make sure you get full length threaded parts you need to add a drop of thread lock when you fit them

The only really expensive one is the big mushroom head fixing on the hexheads £24 odd and main dealer only !

The M6 Torx flange head screws are available on eBay. Five of them at 40mm long will cost under £3.

The ones to worry about are the M8 socket heads holding the aluminium frame rail clamps. If you are lucky they won’t shear. Don’t bother with ACF 50. I’ve just had three treated with it that only just came out. The one treated with copper/carbon grease was fine.

This is what the stainless frame did to my support spacer when the powder coat failed.
