2013 1200 GS -'Must Have' accessories?

I think we need a separate tax disc thread. I'd like to know if any one has actually been successfully prosecuted for failing to display a tax disc despite being legitimately taxed and being able to subsequently produce one on demand.

Though I can't help but feel the paper tax disc is an anachronism that needs to be scrapped to save taxpayers money.

I've heard that the tax disc will be scrapped within the next 2 years:rob

I had the same problem trying to get a decent place to fix the tax disc. I have the disc and tube type and tried various places but all the obvious places looked terrible. I eventually found a P clip and fixed it on the frame under the front seat then fitted the tube type holder, this is a really neat solution but still visible.:flag

Can you post a pic of it please ???

I quite like it in so much as it works with the bike (ie fits in with the shape of the screen) - looks quite KTMish too (always a good thing ;)) IYSWIM.........

On a seperate note it looks like the ORS have gone over to Heidie's from TKC's which is surprising. As good as Heidie's are they aren't as good as TKC's in mud and shitty stuff, certainly more of a hanful for a begginer in those sort of conditions.

:D:D:D

That is the most ridiculous attachment :blast

Surely cheaper to zippy tie an old TourX visor to the front :thumb

First person to buy one gets a free Labrador :augie

The addition of the headlight, nullifies the benefits of the fancy LED super headlight:rolleyes:

Looking at the angles, all the extra light will be reflected, back up to the rider and screen instead of up the road:blast

The headlight guard is not legal for road use I thought, so it's quick release. It's just there for protection off the road.

The headlight guard was only fitted to the bikes at ORS with the LED headlights. Replacement headlight units are > £800 so they are not taking any chances. They were not supposed to have any of the high spec bikes with the fancy lights but BMW cocked up the course dates and so had to hurriedly divert some customer ordered bikes to ORS. Hence the headlight guards.
With regard to the tyres there was a range of different boots fitted on the ORS bikes including TKCs.

Just the job then, when you're following a car down the road and it flicks up a stone - right through your £800 BMW headlight:blast

Classic.....................courtesy of BMW:rolleyes:
