I've closed the old thread, as there have been some pretty major price changes (REDUCTIONS!!) in the LED lights we supply from Durite :JB

If you want to see the old one with the old prices, it's HERE still though :beerjug:

We are also going to be doing them all through the JA4x4 shop HERE, which will be the way to order them, but I only just got the 2013 price list today and it'll take me a few days to get the new prices up......In the meantime, if anyone wants to order a specific set or package of parts, please PM and I'll add them immediately as a priority :thumb2

NEW FOR 2013......We will be doing complete packages, including ones with a BMW Canbus lead, one of Rugged Roads' very nice light bars or other mounting brackets from them, and a variety of other complete solutions including an auxilliary power fuse box and relay setup with various versions of switches and relays....we can tailor a package specifically for you, which I'll add on to the shop in the Bike section.

There will be a minimum of 10% discount FOR SUBSCRIBED UKGSers off ANY products we sell from Durite, Allmakes and Britpart (we like to work as a community so it's only fair that the deal is only available to those who properly belong) but the light packages in particular will be significantly more than 10% off the retail.

I'll do a price promise as well.......To be totally honest I don't want to get complicated like the supermarkets to were you have to scan any barcodes or any old stuff like that, but if you can find the same thing, new, cheaper, I'll match it :thumb2 (you won't be able to though :augie)

When I get the updated information onto the webshop, you'll need to use the discount code "UKGSer" (without the quotes) but you'll also need to put in your username here in a box on the page :thumb

PS you'll notice that the shop address is HTTPS , which means it's fully secured......we take paypal as main payment option, which means you can use any credit or debit card even if you don't have a paypal account :thumb

1) Single Superbright Gen3 LED Auxiliary lamp

(part number 0-420-55 which is ONE UNIT)

13-XL.jpg

Small but powerful- 5W Superbright LED (Brighter than the average car headlamp, equivalent to approx 50w Halogen) but tiny and lightweight.......The beam pattern is ideal for a marker/flood light rather than a long distance spot beam.

Extremely low current draw, 0.3 amp at 12 volt dc. (means there would be no problem running several, PLUS heated grips and clothing etc)

Black powder coated die cast aluminium case- no cheap plastic mouldings here, these lights are solid !

Stainless steel adjustable bracket and 300mm flying leads. The lamp can be linked with additional units.

Protected to IP 67 (Totally dustproof and can be immersed in water up to 1m deep)

L 52 x W 52 x H 72mm. (Height obviously includes bracket)

As above, these are supplied with 30cm flying leads so there's no mucking about opening them up and connecting spade connectors to things inside (been there, done that, never again )

The current draw on these lights is tiny......less than 1/3rd of an amp at 12v DC, but we would recommend wiring them to the battery directly via an ignition switched relay for 1200/canbus bikes.

There will be a complete kit available, including mounting bars and auxilliary fuse box & switch, later on in this thread :thumb2

For 11xx models or any other non-canbus bike, the current is small enough to be piggy backed onto other lights, but legally, I believe they should be capable of being switched on and off independently, so you may want to run them through a switch and/or an ignition supplied relay.

SUPPLIED AT £100 a PAIR, POSTED Mainland UK, please call us or PM me for Ireland/Overseas postage)

(These were £110 a pair)

The 0-420-55 fitted here on top of the bar, shown from the side

(note the spare threads were not cut off and tidied up as these were demo fittings only)

As fitted to RobertG's 1200: (click link for full report)

RobertG said:
The housing is extemely solid aluminium with an excellent (I assume powder) coating. They have a real quality feel to them and to be honest much better than I was expecting for the price. The mount brackets are stainless steel and although thin are extremely strong and more than capable of locking the units on. Install was a breeze and they could be mounted up or hanging. There is a tiny (really really tiny) little bracket supplied with them to allow you to mount two side by side. The bracket is so small I think all it would be useful for is aligning the fittings - you would have to properly mount both fittings witht he stainless steel brackets (that is, you could not mount one and then clip the other on using the tiny bracket). Anyway, I don't think there would be much benefit having two side by side.

I think they look really great when mounted. Very neat quality accessory.

Needless to say the lights really add to your visibility at night. During the day these lights are also extremly noticable. I have only had them on for a week but I have noticed a LOT of cars (and today trucks) pulling over to let me pass. There is obviosuly a good "glint" from the lights that is picked up in mirrors. I don't think that it is so bright that it is a problem for drivers, but it is getting me noticed which has to be a good thing.

Overall 10/10 for an excellent set of LED lights that will help get you noticed.

As fitted to Gert's Lebbenfiddy GSA

And finally, as fitted to my own K100RS, before it had its new fairing transplant

(yes, we use our own products :) )

P1030655-L.jpg

These little lights are really REALLY nice- they feel solid in the hand, are completely waterproof and because they use a PWM circuit board, they really catch the eye (in fact, they 'twinkle' because of the circuitry, but it's too fast for the brain to see as a flash, it just stands out, just like the BMW/Audi new gen LED car DRLs.....I'll post more on that on this thread when I've done the first bit :thumb2)

2) Twin Superbright LED lamp, Part number 0-420-60 (that's one lamp)

Prices the same- these did go up by a couple of pounds, but we're keeping them exactly the same certainly until later in the year, as they are very popular :beerjug:

16-XL.jpg

And mounted here underneath the single 5w circular ones

22-XL.jpg

Small and very neat, but still rather bright!! (equivalent to 40w Halogen)

Twin 3 watt 12/24 volt 3rd Gen LED

Beam pattern long flood.....half way between a spot light and a short throw fog lamp.

Low current draw, 0.9 amp at 12 volt dc.

Polymer housing, supplied with stainless steel adjustable bracket

2m flying lead.

Protected to IP66.
(Completely dustproof, Protected against low pressure jets of water, limited ingress permitted (e.g. ship deck)

Or put another way, perfect for a bike

L 93 x W 56 x H 81mm.

Supplied and POSTED to you in mainland UK for £85 a PAIR
(again, Ireland and European postage may be more, please get in touch)

We'll also have some complete packages available for these, including light bars and switches etc :thumb2

Side view, again, mounted underneath the circular ones in post 2

side-XL.jpg

And on an Africa Twin:

IMG00086-20120912-1601-L.jpg

We wired these drekkly from the feed to the sidelights, through a switch, so they come on as the sidelights do (unless turned off via switch)

IMG00091-20120912-1601-L.jpg

IMG00093-20120912-1602-L.jpg

Rear view.
We knocked up the brackets out of some scrap steel plate, so they're not the neatest brackets in the world but they woerk and are totally in keeping with the 'feel' of the bike :D

Illuminated LED toggle switch for lights to the right, under idiot light panel

(we'll be supplying these switches as part of one of the complete kits)

IMG00090-20120912-1601-L.jpg

Now, this is where the big price cut comes in......

We've sold a lot of these, and Durite are now ordering them literally by the thousand, so the price has come down a lot.

3) Cree stackable 10w Hyperbrights

Two flavours, two colours

1) Flood/Wide beam
Suitable as DLR (Daylight Running Lights) for maximum visibilty and wide but short throw pattern of light

2) Spot pattern
Suitable as long distance spot beams or to 'fill in' gaps ahead that the main beam or dipped beam don't cover.

14-XL.jpg

WHITE OR BLACK CASINGS

As used on genuine PD bikes....Same spec as Denali Extreme and VisionX solstice lights.

Super powerful but tiny 10 watt 12/48 volt 3rd generation LED

Equivalent to 100 watt halogen bulb output.

Low current draw, 0.75 amp at 12 volt dc.
So use with heated clothing, grips etc etc, or ideal for airheads with limited power generation capabilities)

Black powder coated die cast aluminium case
(these feel solid in the hand, like you could really lump someone with it....)

Polycarbonate lens (almost unbreakable)

Stainless steel adjustable bracket and sealed
connector socket/plug.

Stackable (all hardware included to link them together id you want to)

(the ones below the light bar here)
fggf-XL.jpg

Protected to IP 68
(totally dustproof, Protected against prolonged effects of immersion under pressure.)

L 52 x W 52 x W 80mm. (or 52 mm square without bracket)

THESE WERE £175 A PAIR (launched at £160)

Now supplied and posted to mainland UK for only £130 a pair

:JB

11-6-XL.jpg

P1030850-L.jpg

You can stack/line them up in blocks, using the supplied connecting blocks, so you can have a pair of wide beams and a pair of spots, connected together easily either vertically or horizontally :thumb

P1030856-XL.jpg

dd-L.jpg

dd-6-L.jpg

These are small......only 52mm square plus the brackets, so they fit in neatly onto pretty much any sport or touring bike as well as being a great option for off-road pogos where you need a lot more light without a massive weight gain or power draw.

They also look bloody good in a row on a 4x4 light bar :augie

P1030842-L.jpg

NEW FOR 2013

DLR (Daylight running lights) LED bars (come as a pair)

Two sizes:

Ikkle, panel mount (0-422-90, a pair)

IMG_00000041-L.jpg

Big, bracket mount (0-422-91, a pair)

IMG_00000003-L.jpg

(the pen's the clue :augie)

The smaller ones (0-422-90) are designed as panel mount lights, although it would be easy to make a bracket for them to mount onto a bar.

The larger ones (0-422-91) come complete with a steel mounting bracket

Both types are cast aluminium bodied, ECE Approved and come with a wiring harness already made up

0-420-91 PANEL MOUNT
0-420-91.gif

0-420-90 BRACKET MOUNT
0-420-90.gif

These bars are NOT the cheapo ones you'll find on Ebay...for one thing, they're proper cast ally bodies, are fully ECE and CE approved, but they also have intelligent wiring (which I doubt any of us will use, but they come with it :D)

Rather than having two wires as you might expect, these have three.....
one to earth (durr) one to ignition switched positive and the third (optional) goes to another live feed, and turns the DRL's OFF.

This means that with that third wire attached to main beam or dip beam feed, the DRLs are ON until you put the headlamps ON as well, at which point the DRLs are turned OFF.

Depends how you want to play I guess.......Too many lights can be antisocial and frankly, pretty annoying (my point of view, others may differ) so with these fitted using the intelligent wiring, you'll be running with the DRLs ON until you switch the main lights ON (depending on bike/car of course...yes, I know our GSs run with dip beam on all the time ) at which point the DLRs will turn off.......or you could ignore the intelligent wiring and make like a christmas tree....completely up to you :thumb

This is the image from the sample box we first got last year, showing the beam spread idea.....

IMG_00000048-L.jpg

The light colour of these DRL's is 60K (white) and they are IP67 (totally waterproof, dustproof etc etc)

Price?

Ah yes......:blast

£29 a pair, either sort, delivered
(mainland UK again, sorry chaps abroad)

IMG_00000001-L.jpg

PS the photographs, as we all know, do not do decent lights justice......Until you see them, you won't quite appreciate how good they are.....but if anyone buys a set and doesn't think they're bright enough, I'll take them back (caveats as usual...packaging intact and no damage)

The BigMofoHID Spots (0-537-10, one unit)
The SUPERMOFO HID spots (0-537-20,one unit)
The ridiculously big and way too powerful for a bike but ideal for a 4x4 HYPERMOFO HID spots
(0-537-30, one unit)

Ok, the bigger two of this threesome are potty, and unless you really want to burn down the Ace Cafe just by turning them on in the carpark, I'd suggest that only the smaller one of the three is probably a BIKE light.

Here fitted on my own 1150GSA, you can see that the smaller ones, although pretty fekking impressive, aren't actually ridiculously large :D

27-XL.jpg

They are seriously powerful and well made lights though.....

They come complete with a loom, including a pre-wired relay, stainless steel bracketry and everything you need apart from a switch (which guess what, we can supply :thumb2)

We can also supply these monsters with a heavy duty, gussetted light bar from those lovely people at Rugged Roads

The small ones weigh in at 2.5kg each, so please, if you do want the ultimate spotlights for your bike, bear that in mind- you WILL need a strong light bar :rob

What's so special about them?

They have internal ballasts, that's what.......that means no seperate wiring spaghetti to mount your ballasts elsewhere, these are pretty much plug and play with the relays already fitted.

The bodies are cast aluminium and the lenses are hardened glass.

They're also 12 AND 24 volt compatible, so if att wants to be able to ray-gun inept pedestrians, he can fit these drekkly to his Yorkie bar truck :thumb2

0-537-10 4 1/2 inch (as in pics) £260 ea retail, tosser price £210 delivered (ea)
0-537-20 5 1/2 inch £268 retail, tosser price £215 delivered (ea)
0-537-30 7 1/2 inch £280 retail, tosser price £250 delivered (ea)

WTF?

Ok, I hold my hands up right now, this is NOT a bike product, but it's as cool as penguin pee and it's an example of what we do from Durite for 4x4s, rescue vehicles, quads or if you're Sani, for your 1200 with everything on it :thumb2

remote-light.gif

However (and there's always a 'however somewhere isn't there :D)
If you want some more fancy ones, here we go........I've included the standard ones as well, but as I say, please go to DrFarkoff for those (they're just on the same screenshot here)

Handy thing :thumb2

I have had problems with 'straight out' DIN plugs before....always catching on a leg or something, breaking contact or even damaging the plug or socket.

So here we go....a nice solid 90 degree angled DIN plug, 16 amps...we do curly cords as well if you need one, various lengths and styles....will post pics and specs of those if anyone wants them :thumb2

0-601-27 16a 90 degree DIN plug

This is very cool as well....I have one in a fairing cubby on my K bike and one in the Landy......its a standard 2 way cig socket splitter (both sockets illuminated) on a curly cord (with mounting tabs and double sided sticky pad) but it also has a USB output for charging iPods, gadgets, wossnames, widgets and doodads.
10a fuse supplied

There's also a line of 4 LEDs to indicate power supply state from the socket, so you can see if your charging system is under load :thumb2

On the Durite page of our website, you'll find the whole catalogue in PDF format

Hmm actually, you WILL find the whole catalogue in PDF format, once I've uploaded the 2013 version...the one that's on there right now is 2012 :blast

As I said at the top of this thread, 10% discount off any retail price as a minimum to subscribed tossers, more for packages (which I'll be adding over this weekend and onwards from there) and more for anything over £100

We also do a fitting service for any of our products, be they electrical or LR/4x4 parts, at our advanced state of the art run down old shed in furthest Essex :blast :D

Prices vary as do the bikes, but it will always be reasonable.....give us a call and see :thumb2

I'd also like to add that I can thoroughly recommend Chris Tunbridge (TunnerUk) as a very professional fitter....Chris will have the whole range of our equipment, plus a lot of other goodies which he can install for you :thumb2

(clickety click)

We're quite happy to talk to other installation engineers or companies about supplying Durite or any other products too :thumb

Sorry I've been opening and closing this all evening...I wanted to splurge my wad before the questions began......

Open now :thumb2

Eventually got my Fanum spots wired up. I took the live feed from the diagnostic plug under the rear seat. This then operated a relay (via an overriding switch on the handlebars) that switched a permeant live to an aux fuse box that i then run the lights from, i have 2 more fuses in the box for other accessories if needed. I've not taken a pic of that set up as its like a birds nest and will need tidying up some time

1st 2 pics show the spot lights fitted to the crash bars. Unfortunately the bars are different make to the engine ones and don't ft too well, they will also need to be removed when the bike is serviced so I decided to locate another position for them

7FE88DE7-261A-4F5F-9854-4D0A005A0BC2-2376-00000164E8BD912F.jpg

6D86A82B-FA13-4B53-B617-6E0A3C6384F8-2376-00000164E36884D3.jpg

I then decided to try fitting them to the beak using the screws that hold the beak in place, i purchased some run of the mill brackets and moved the spots, as you can see from the last pic, the brackets are too flimsy and I'll have to source some more substantial ones to stop any possible vibration, or possibly put them back on the bars with quick release connectors

9A524ECF-334B-473A-8182-97E6A3D9AADF-2376-00000164DE044416.jpg

67BC8B82-D7F9-4D14-806B-6020D3E05DDC-2376-00000164D2B57C4F.jpg

I'll now have to find a quiet piece of dark road and do some fine adjustments but that may have to wait until I get the new brackets, i'll just make sure they aren't dazzling any poor car drivers

I'd also like to add that I can thoroughly recommend Chris Tunbridge (TunnerUk) as a very professional fitter....Chris will have the whole range of our equipment, plus a lot of other goodies which he can install for you :thumb2

Bill ........ you forgot to mention how handsome I am? :D
