2013 GS TE v 2105 GS TE.......

Referring back to your original post, the 2013 WC TE has a steering damper as standard
I have a 2013 TE and the bike has been faultless other than having the faulty battery replaced under warranty.
As someone stated earlier, save yourself a fortune and go for the 2013 bike especially as it is very low mileage.

My original GS was a 14 plate GS TE. The difference between a 13MY and 14MY is the addition of a steering damper and the suspension springs were white on a 14MY.

This was pointed out to me by the dealer................... JFYI.

14 model GS bikes also got the heavier crank/flywheel the same as the GSA

2013 GS TE

I've had my 2013 from new it's been brilliant ,but does crunch in to first a bit but no worse than a lot of other makes. Covered about 9000 trouble free miles and been to Europe a few times. I considered an extended warranty last year but at over £300 for 1 year I gave it a miss. I'm going to hold on to it for another few years as justifying £6000 to change doesn't make sense to me. 😗

Tony,

don't beat yourself up, we all do it. I traded in my '13 for an XR. Lasted 2K miles in a couple of weeks including a cold and wet time of it going thru France when I decided only a few days into a long tour it wasn't for me and headed straight home much to my mates disgust.

With my tail between my legs I walked back into the dealers and bought my old bike back. That was one very expensive XR rental!

I was hoping the XR was the lovechild of the 3 bikes I own (it cost as much as the value of all 3) it was ultimately a sportsbike & just wasn't me . I'm a long timer GSer with 50K+ miles too and it took that brief affair to realise I'd made a boo-boo. A good friend commented he bought a 1200 Multistrada a few years ago and pretty much knew as quickly that it perhaps wasn't the right bike and he fought it for a couple more years before it was no more. Said he wished he'd bailed out earlier. Life's too short, so get the bike you want.

Normal service is restored now my old '13 is back in my hands and DLVA was good enough to send me a new V5 that still says zero previous owners!.
