According to the specs it's now got a common engine/gearbox.

Standby for more oil arguments... :blast

238kg ready to ride and 125 BHP according to BMW

Is that paint peeling off the driveshaft housing? :D

Anyone find how the gearing compares to the current one? I would love to see a bit lower 1st and slightly taller 6th.

I like it. A lot. Shame abut the indicator switches though.:blast

This could be an interesting rival given the good reviews of the 650.

Didn't think a new 1000 would surface.

I'll have a white and black one please Bob......:) If I was in the market for a new road bike, but I'm not. Very nice though, really like it, only thing i not too keen on, is the beak, but like the black bit added to the beak on the prototype pic (aka the old adventure beak) even like the massive standard silencer over the Akropovic. I'm sure, it'll be very expensive with all the toys though.

Looks good the new GS :thumb
But I will prefer to wait until the black engines are coming out !

Am I the only one that thinks it looks ugly as sin? It looked much much much better in the spy shots that were released several months ago. What's with the stuck on bit on the fairing?

Got to be brave to buy this colour

Also, according to the BMW Motorrad website the new model is 238kg wet, 9kg heavier than the outgoing model.

Looks like a great road bike, and probably better than its immediate rivals for a bit of off road malarkey. They're getting further and further from their roots, arent they.
