Lowering the seat

Yes, the seat can be lowered, I have 29" inside leg and can get it to low enough. That said it did feel still too high initially, but I think the way to hold it up when stopped adjusts to allow for any initial height issue -feels ok now, never really think about it. You can also get the seat redone to lower the padding (and also have a gel insert). All in all never find it an issue.

You can lower it, but dont get your hopes up

1 ) Lower seat - BMW do a low seat option

2) Set seat height bobbin/bracket to low position

3) Buy a set of seat lowering bobbins (10mm lower)

4) Buy a Kahedho Ultra low seat at £350

5) Buy a bike with factory lowered suspension

That should get you to about 790-800mm - The GSA is taller than the GS

800 will be tippy toes ;)

Im the same in the inseem dept, a shortarse. I had a 2013 GSA that i bought new and when i sat on the seat my feet were at least 6 in off the deck on either side. Just fit a low seat and set suspension to soft and your good to go. I never dropped that bike like i did all the rest :blast and once you get used to planning where your going to stop its not too bad. I was tippy toes all the time and never had a problem. :thumb

I found that problem with the 06 gs, a low seat and suspension wound right off improved things no end.

Fitting lowered suspension made things perfect. However on the new 16 model even with suspension low & low seat, i'm on tip/balls again.

I need another 2 inches of the height

Im thinking the 1250 seems more like a 1200gs as far as height goes. Im still tippy toes but its no big deal i don’t think. Forward planning when stopping is always a good idea just so that when the foot goes down there’s something under it

Who says size matters?
PS, try the Rallye seat, you get a high and low version, it’s slightly narrower, so lets a shorty get both feet down, within reason.

I am a shortarse too and I had old 1150GS, which was great but I had always hankered after a GSA so then went straight to 1200GSA WC it was massive, but like you said as long as I planned where to stop, no worries, but it was still BIG. I then tried a factory lowered GSA when mine was in for a service and can honestly say, wow what a difference it made. So I bought one! It doesn't look any different, but I am so much more confident in every situation, be it on road long distance, or indeed off road on green lanes etc. I seem to ride better. So try one, you will be pleasantly surprised. It will cost a whole hunk of cash mind you but it will make a difference. Just traded that one as well and now on a 1250 GSA, again factory lowered. Cant comment too much on it so far as I only got it in March and after an initial 300 or so miles its been laid up since the lockdown!! Bums.
