Just had my first outing and covered 260 miles

Review ..... F in awesome ... :clap:clap:clap

It is a very nice bike.....just can't afford the cost to change :blast

Ha ha .....

I had a LC last year that was a great bike and luckily I had a smooth gearbox too !

This bike feels so much smoother on acceleration , although I am still running it in I noticed on the motorway at about 80 -90 mph it feels like it is "hunting ". My last LC did this and it seemed fine after first service so maybe it's a map update ???

I am 5ft 10 and the seat on the lowest setting allows me to place both feet on the floor , seems to be same height then as Std LC on highest setting.

Also I have a TL1000 R sat in the garage and I can honestly say I can't see me ridding it much due to the fact that this bike seems to do everything so well.

Can't claim to be the fastest rider in the world , but I ride " spirited " and the GS will keep up with most sport bikes on the twisty's and pass a few too !

The down side it cost me nearly £40 to fill up and pushing in to the garage with a full tank was a challenge !!

As I said before "f in awesome" and no complaints from me :bounce1:clap

Not wanting to poke :trippy but would be nice to hear the detailed story what u upgraded up from etc..

Ditto,

I traded up from a 2012 f800gs trophy, and it's perfect.

Having had the bike a week I've been using it to commute everyday using the a40 and a406, including hangerlane in West London,

It filters surprisingly well considering the size and with a full tank of fuel.

I have the normal water GS and have the same experience. This bike (the chassis , suspension and steering) is awesome in the twisties. If the road is bumpy , the sportsbikes will be left for dead.

Agree F awesome :880 miles, (not had 1st service yet), neutral now easier to find. Doesn't have the fabulous 3rd gear engine 'on/off' engine braking like mo 07, which I do miss in the twisties, this one just keeps on going.Need to use brakes much more, or is it that I'm just going too fast. Not a drop of oil used, I repeat not a drop. Totally different than my last GS and GSA, in a very good way.

I'm generally loving the GSA, a much nicer ride all round than my problematic March 2013 GS LC. Heavier flywheel makes a noticeable difference. Haven't managed a 300m tank yet though.

Only two small grumbles - the screen isn't as good as the old GSA (I'm 6'3) and since I had the gear shift assist fitted I've had two instances where shifting from first to second using the clutch, the bike has briefly cut all power - like traction control, except no warning lights on dash. I end up pitched over the handlebars briefly, then the power returns and normal service is resumed. I'd be interested if anyone else has had a similar experience. (I should post this in the gear shit assist thread, I know...).

But, back to the bike in general - I had loads of small issues with the GS, and I was glad to see it gone. GSA is a huge improvement.

Good reply, nice to know what you had previously, obviously having had previous gsses it's a pretty fair comparison..
I'm on the 14regd GS WC & not got any problems with mine, got a nice k1200s & I just can't see me riding it much, it's gonna have to find a new lover..
Good luck with bike & enjoy the journeys guys.. :beerjug:

Had a triple black TC before that and 1150 Rockster .... I must say that must be most the under rated bike ever .... Wish I had have kept that and made it into some sort of cafe racer style !

I also had a 2013 GS wc and this was a great bike I've only covered 400 miles so far on the GSA but this too is just as good it does seem a little smoother in town and the gearbox is just as good as the 2013 was silky smooth
Happy days

Terry

Had Mine since March and covered 2100 miles.so happy with it ,smooth, fast and very comfortable.recently returned from a 1400 four day trip down to Middle France with a mate on his ktm 1190 and I no what one I would prefer.never got 300 out of the tank and averaged over the 4 days 42mpg which wasn't to bad considering the speeds we was doing.also found the new navigator brilliant as I cannot map read for shit!! Also NOT A Drop of oil(who would of thought)

Loving the new GSA

Well, I really am very very pleased. Effortless to ride, handles like a dream and looks the nuts. IMHO of course

It's a good bike , but I have the 1200gs LC , this bike just feels too big , I never have the need to carry that much extra fuel , so the size outweighes the practicality . If however I was crossing Africa etc , this would be fine , but I do Europe and the LC standard is fine, also even with the heavier flywheel , the low down torque is not a bonus , more than a compromise for me.
The LC gs is a great bike for the standard traveller and the GSA is a globe trotting necessity , but not for me .
It would be a boring world if we all thought the same , this is only my opinion so please don't berate me .......
Ps , the screens a bits weird ....

But have you ridden one....you may just be pleasantly surprised

Yes I have , did about 3hrs on one , as I said ,nice but not as flickable or as positive on the road as mine , did not take it off road mind you but as I have dedicated off roaders there was no need .
It's a definite statement bike but not for me , the engine is smoother at lower revs but that's not where I have issues with mine as I have had mine remapped which smooths out the standard engine so they are similar.
Again OMHO . Horses for courses and all that , and wish all the new GSA riders well as it's a great bit of kit.:thumby::thumby:

The GSA is quite a lot different to the GS and at same time a lot is the same. I loved my GS it was a great bike and at the same time I'm sure the GSA will please me just the same. The main thing for me to get used to is the weight when it's full of fuel
