Hi - Having been made an offer-i-couldn't-refuse on a newer GSA, I am putting my faithful 2016 Adventure up for sale.
First registered in September 2016 on a '66' plate - I've owned this bike since December 2017 - I bought it with around 3000 miles on the clock and I have ridden it to its current 38,000 miles. It has taken me on many happy euro-tours with my wife, or sometimes my daughter - and a number of great scotland trips with the lads too. I wasn't planning on selling it this year, but the offer I had on a new bike was too good to let go.
Its a bit of an unusual model - it was a BMW fleet-bike (I am the first private owner) and is actually an 'XE' model - the base model - but then BMW UK have added EVERY extra to it with the sole exception of the LED headlight & indicators. So it has Halogen main lamp and a very distinctive LED DRL - I've quite enjoyed it as i've never actually seen another on the UK roads.
Other than bulbs it has the same spec as a TE - so Sat-Nav Prep, Gearshift Assist Pro (up & down), ABS Pro (lean sensitive - can be coded for "hill-hold"), OBC Pro, Riding Mode Pro (inc undersea dongle thing), heated grips, TPMS etc etc..
I've actually still got the extended warranty on this bike as I use that for peace-of-mind while on tour - as a result it has only ever been serviced at main dealers and has 11 BMW service stamps in the book, mostly at Bowker in Preston, but as some will know, Bowker in Preston is no-more so the last service was carried out in February by the new team at Lloyds Blackpool. I've ridden it approx 50 miles since service so she is good to go for a years adventures. This last service included replacing the driveshaft as a FoC service item (as per the new maintenance schedule).
On top of the stamped service book, i keep detailed records of what work is carried out - this includes scheduled services, but also records tyre changes, ACF50 application, 'deep cleans', pre-euro-tour checkovers and of course MoT test details. I have also logged that the shock was replaced at just under 16,000 miles as the original failed. Eagle eyed will note that the new one is the later 'ZF" branded shock rather than the troublesome 'sachs' brands units.
Tyre-wise, it has Metzeler Tourance Next2 tyres which have been on the bike for 3000 miles - the front looks great - the back looks good too, but if you feel it, it is starting to square off a little.
Condition wise - it is superb - i am meticulous in my servicing, maintenance and cleaning regime - much to the amusement of my riding mates to be honest - and as the bike approaches its tenth birthday, this obsession is evident in the condition of the bike. You will find 3/4yr old examples in much worse condition - there is no visible corrosion on engine cases or swingarm - even the rear subframe is in great condition having been vinyl coated early on in its life. I've put some close-up pics here but happy to share more or a video walk around if you wanted. The Centre-stand too - having vinyl wrapped it and fitted the later 1250 plastic protector. The bike really is in outstanding condition.
Panniers - i have full 3-piece aluminium luggage with the bike - including the genuine BMW inners for the two side panniers (but not the top-box, sorry).
The panniers were bought at the time I got the bike and were wrapped on day one - as soon as they came out of the boxes - so while I appreciate the 'globe / map' image wrap might not be to everyones taste, a little time with a hairdryer to remove the wrap will reveal a set of perfect panniers underneath. (any stickers you can see are on top of the wrap so will come off with the wrap).
In edition to the BMW panniers, it also has a genuine touratech toolbox on the nearside panner frame and there are a couple of Givi Bags for the side bars and a little Givi bag under the top-box mount which is handy for disc locks etc.
Others - the bike has a handful of trinkets here and there - the SWMotech milled, adjustable gear lever is a favourite - some touratech part above the lights and Wunderlich fill-in panels between rear frame and luggage (which actually work to keep your passenger dry-er).
Documents - it has all Mot certificates and all service receipts from main dealers documented above. Spare key which has never been used.
Price - In total for bike with panniers and all above i am asking for offers around £7200
(i'd consider offers for the bike without luggage too if you have existing luggage to move across)
If you are in the market for a GSA of this era, you won't find many in this condition or with this maintenance history - and i'd welcome any viewers.
I am based in Lancashire a few miles inland from Blackpool.
Thanks for reading what has turned out to be a very long advert - happy to answer any questions you may have.
thanks
