My 2017 GSA will only lock on the left
Every single day, twice a day on my old bike! How often does anyone not lock their steering to the left?
Ditto my 2017 keyless GSA only locks on the left, my 2015 keyless GSA I chopped in locked on both sides.
I took the new one back and complained and the dealer was unaware of this until they worked it out. When I picked it up we went around the showroom looking at the head stocks to see which ones did and didn't.
It seems that brand new 2017 stock only locks on one side and slightly older stock will lock both sides.
What on earth BMW we're thinking about with this I have no idea. What benefit there can possibly be in doing this escapes me.
A right pain for you then. I don't think many bikes lock to the right. But I may be wrong - often am.Every single day, twice a day on my old bike!
It was just the easiest position for me to lock it with the steering lock on in the space I had available. It's a complete pain now, so sometimes I don't bother which isn't ideal.
For my wife, every single time the bike was put in the garage. That was until she swapped the R for the RS which, unlike my RS that's only 2 months older, doesn't lock to the right. How often does anyone not lock their steering to the left?

Given the choice, would always lock to the right - it's the only sensible thing to do if getting on the bike from the left hand side, as I do.
Not in my case, but the bars are that way orientated and not easy to move. You mount up with your steering lock on?
