These notes come off the back of owning a May 2016 registered GSA Iconic, and having used for my Southern Ireland trip; a loaned June 2016 registered GSA.

First of all the fit and finish of the Triple Black. To my eyes it is superb as is. I really like the grey frame, the graphics and the contrast between the Blacks / Greys and Silvers. Better in the flesh than the pictures.

The ride seems to be a little more controlled than the 2016 bikes. It feels like a tweak in the spring rates and damping and the result, for me, is a more compliant ride in Normal mode. Previously I though Normal was a little too hard. Single rider mode seems to take my erm muscled frame a little easier than on a 2016 bike.

Having had the loan GSA with the Akra can barking at me all the time in Ireland, I am going to keep the pipes standard for now. The 2017 bike is certainly quieter than my previous standard exhaust Iconic. Exhaust sound is pleasant and MUCH better than my old 2012 TC. Engine performance seems the same...ish - pulls well, revs well :blagblah

Now, the Gearbox. Both my 2016 bikes were GAP enhanced gearboxes. The Iconic was ok, a little lumpy; the loan bike was excellent. The 2017 bike still clunks a little into first. So if you are expecting silence - No. It is no worse than a good Jap gearbox and is light years better than the original 2013/14 machines. There is no lurching forward or drama. The change on the go are better, particularly the through neutral changes of 1st to 2nd and back. Neutral selection is better also. Changes from 2nd to top are superb; but they were on my 2016 loan bike.

The changes to the dash have improved it and you can now read the figures at a glance.

Nothing more to say really apart from the seat on the TB seems a bit more plush and the bike feels properly sorted. No doubt the new model will be out soon then :green gri

Cheers :aidan

I'd agree with all of that, apart from your choice of exhaust, obviously!:D

One thing I've noticed on mine is that the traction control light seems to come on more often than on my last GSA. :augie:green gri

Well thanks. I am out on the bike over the weekend to get some pre-service miles under its belt. Catch up soon?

I'm off to Cheddar Gorge tomorrow, doing the same. Will keep an eye out for you.:thumb

2017 GSA

My mate has one he has notice the small hole on left hand side of engine for water pump , that usually corrodes has gone.

So where will the leaking coolant from the water pump drain to now ?

N.B. this isn't a p@ss take, unless BMW have also changed the design of pump to prevent leaks then where will any leakage end up ?

I haven't noticed that. I'll have a look later.
