2017 KTM Adventure Range.

how on earth KTM can possibly improve on such awesome bikes for 2017............

Andres

More orange usually works :D

........and maybe better sealing air boxes, non buffeting screens, a bit less heat from the engine, and a range indicator that really reads in miles and not in KM's :augie

Cruise control on the 1190 and some panniers that look as though they belong

I've not heard of any significant problems with any 1190/1290 and I have a few mates with both.Certainly never heard of engines needing replacement within a year due to shoddy production.

I would certainly say that modern BMs don't have the build quality or reliability of older models going back to the 90s and beyond. The three I've had were crap compared to my 1100 and 1150 GS/GSA.

Many on here agree, but strangely you have never had a single issue with any BMW and your bikes appear to have a different paint finish and build quality to every body elses.....

Go and have a look on the ADVRider forum then. You know, the place where they do some serious mileages.

I've said before, if I had all the issues mentioned on here, do you SERIOUSLY think I'd keep buying more BMW's? Of course I bloody wouldn't. :rob

You keep falling into the trap of thinking that just because a few bikes have issues, the whole brand does.

I don't really care if you can only buy BMWs.I'll buy whatever takes my fancy. That's why I've owned most makes over the years, and finally bought my first Yamaha this year after 36 years of riding.
I've owned 8 different BMWs but cannot see myself buying a new one unless they build something that interests me and build it to last longer than the first year. The older BM bikes I owned were great but the ones built after 2005 all had problems, some of them major.

And some of us like KTMs because they have a certain something that people like you,Nutster just don't get.The only BMW I've ever owned that had such a feeling was my Boxercup Replika many years back.
But it's also the reason I've not bought a new KTM for 8 years !!!! OK,I did want a 1290 GT but my dealer failed to source one and believe me he tried.

Anyway, not debating anymore. Can we please keep this thread to what it was started for-to pass on any info about the new KTM range of big bikes. We know you and your boyfriend Engineer will never dare stray outside the BMW brand,so bit pointless continually hijacking a thread about a brand that you have zero interest in.Go get some more bits of your Partial Black painted properly.

Jolly good. You stick to your crap imitation of the best adventure bike on the market, and I'll stick to actually owning the best adventure bike on the market.:beerjug:

As you say, we'll keep this thread on track from now on. Well, I will.:D

So you've now jumped to talking about the Africa Twin, which has won all the awards this year, was the best selling bike of the year, full stop,of any bike, any cc until the earthquake stopped production and was voted Bike Mag Bike of the Year ? The same mag that didn't even include the latest GS in the Top 50 !!!
Sorry, but I won't stick to it as I like a bit of variety, unlike some.

And ,correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe you even own the bike you love so much, because you've had to sell the previous one before the warranty expires and buy the same bloody bike again because they've badly sprayed a few panels black and charged a premium to gullible muppets who fall for such a con....

Can we please get back to just discussing the new big KTMs,as was the intention of this thread.Ta

The same mag that didn't even include the latest GS in the Top 50 !!! Or are you talking about one of the new KTMs ? I think we should know !
Actually it's just more hijacking so please refrain,so others who do have an interest may post something useful.....

Oi, both of you, fuck off!

This has already been settled, I refer you to post No179

KTMs are great but they are becoming ever more ridiculous in terms of power and weight in trying to grab a larger share of BMWs market.

I thought you wanted to keep the thread on track?:blast

And why are you bringing the Africa Twin into the conversation?:nenau

If you need a rag like Bike mag for verification that your bike is any good, that speaks volumes. I'm glad the GS wasn't in there top 50. It's still the number 1 adventure bike worldwide.

Anyway, I'm sure you'll be back shortly to keep this thread off topic.:blast

The future is Tomos my hippy friend:rob ( until you buy that new husky) :D

...........and you, fuck off :dabone

Thought they'd done that by dropping the 1190? .....

You can fuck off too :dabone

If the 1290R is indeed as ugly as the pics in MCN then I will be cancelling my order !

That'll please Paul S

....and you still take that magazine seriously?

....next you'll be quoting the bike of the year opinions of Auto-trader!

Hardly !

I don't take any mag seriously though Bike makes a tad more sense than MCN and the like .

That's why I've bought a few bikes lately before the mags got their hands on them to test them..
