first of the above bikes is in local dealers on 24th feb. I am in the notion of ordering one to replace my '14 TE . As im only 5'7 i was thinking of going for the lower suspension BMW offers. Has anyone ever had this done or had any experience with a bike that has been lowered. My bike now is standard and no problems, but would be more confident if slightly lower. (dont want to use lower seat as they are usually uncomfortable doing big miles.
Morning , I have the standard LC TB , before that I had similar and I'm 6 foot tall, to cut a long story short I can offer the following.
Due to my earlier bike being under warrentee work I was booked to go on a 2 week trip to Spain, I had no bike , BMW gave me a lone bike , a 1200LC GS just run in.
Now to my horror it was the lowered frame but I was stuck , Spain with it or no holiday.
The lowered bike was great , no issues , handled the same as my other , bike .
I did have to run the suspension in two up to make the bike feel the same as mine. Again it was fine .
I would if you can steer away from a lowered seat as you seem to disappear into the bike and sit like a crazy frog.
The lowered frame is by far the best option as you still have the standard ( comfy seat) and you can still run it high or low .
Hope this helps
