2018 KTM 790 Adventure

Saw it was 12 k at the show today , fools will queue and spend the dosh , I don’t buy the 3 grands worth of suspension internals at all.
What a shame

£3k suspension

They are having a laugh

More like £500

For £3k you could have factory Ohlins or WP - forks and shock

No way is it £3k

Both correct. £500 of suspension that we'd be paying £3k for.

Any news on whether the £12k is an on-the-road price? I suspect not.

At this rate I'll end up with a used 1090R and risk dropping it a lot. :blast

Quick search....Premier have a seeming fleet of 1090R's and loads on sale elsewhere. Willing to bet £9k would see you with a good one right now.

I’ll wait and see what the official launch price is, on the website, as I can’t believe it’ll be £12k for a standard R. Doesn’t make any sense at all, especially as the 1090 is cheaper, and all the “competition” is much cheaper. Must be a wind up.

1090R was about £12500 OTR when launched - so 790R will be £11999 I reckon and then the usual autumn discount in 2019

AMS have told me £11,999. Sounds official.

Here's a 1090R. A year old, 2800 miles. So this time last year he'll have paid no more than £10k. A year later and 2.8k miles he sells it, and I think he will, for £8.5k. So a years use, depreciation, bla bla and the bike only costs him £1.5k. Doesn't sound too bad does it.

Nutty doesn't buy used anything

He gets his new bikes at trade/cost price every time so why buy used

I’ve already got a used bike in the garage! :D

There are normally deals to be had, as you know. ;)

I’ve heard a rumor though that the 2019 1290SAS will be over £15k on the road, so unless there’s a decent deal to be had, I’ll think twice about getting another one, especially as they’re always keen to offer huge discounts later in the year.

So why not buy a brand new Black 2018 SAS at a huge discount ;)

There was a time when the Oranges section was free of all this sensible bollox about money, depreciation and jealous onlookers keen to knock something ‘cos they have nothing better to do. That used to be reserved for the ladies in the WC section.

How times change.

It’s simple. If you want the bike and can afford it then buy it. If you can’t dont. Same as it’s ever been.

Well said, hippy.
And all these armchair experts telling us how KTM have fucked up the design , blah blah blah.,

Yes you're right, then the 1190 GS challenger was released and KTM sold their soul to the devil ... never to return :D

You’re right, and I apologise sincerely for my silliness.

I’m going to go and sit in the corner now.

Just been to bike show, the 790 is tiny!

To small for me or the Mrs, but finally an adventure bike for short people!

Well I’m 6’1” and could just about flat foot the R so it ain’t that small at 880 mm seat height . The standard bike is 850mm
