2018 KTM 790 Adventure

New KTM 690R is £9600 otr

When it was last in production in 2016, it was about £7600 otr

So in 3 years it's gone up £2000 and in reality hasn't changed much

Where do KTM dream up their prices ?

Makes the 790R price seem more palatable

Or the 1090R at £9500 otr a bargain currently

Bikes only worth what you want to pay.
I think12k is a bit overpriced but its ideal for what i do and want to do more off.
Plus if i dont like it there seem to be plenty of moaners who wouldnt pay for one new, so my used one will sell no prob ! :)

Exactly :beerjug:

As I said before, if you can afford one and want one buy one.
If you can't then don't.

I hear Honda and BMW make nice, sensible bikes, maybe worth a look :)

The remarkably similar Husqvarna 701E I test rode last year was a salty at the time £8,600. I thought Husky was supposed to be KTM's *premium* brand.

Still, if you like it and have the money, buy it.

I suspect the KTM price quoted is a list price, especially given the bike was only announced at EICMA.

BMW not withstanding, who ever pays list on a new bike ESPECIALLY a KTM?

That was my understanding too, but nearly £10k for a 700cc single is ambitious - even if it is orange

6 months after and they will be knocking them out with a big discount

Back end sales promo's are where the bargains are to be had:thumby:

Being an early adopter at Full RRP is a mug's game

Yes, but comparing like for like list prices...The list price for the 701 is now £8,799.

...And the Husky looks miles better.

Agreed

Ebay KTM Main dealer price for the new 2019 KTM 690 is advertised at £9599...............Bonkers

It is what it is. New bikes are getting very expensive.

KTM, and others, know very well that if you can afford eight and a half, you can afford nine and a half. Especially as it will almost certainly be on a PCP and the monthly outgoing will be much the same.

Doesn't it. The new KTM has 'shades' of the Husky with 'shades' of KTM but is nor neither fish nor fowl and suffers for it.

Exactly.

although i find most people holding on to bikes for longer now if bought outright. I use to change road & enduro bikes every 2 years but now more settled and if i m enjoying the bike then i will hold on to it and just enjoy it as things dont move on as much as the hype produced by manufacturers.

I can't see much point in trading my 1190R for a 1290R. Even less now I don't have a KTM dealer handy.

I plan on hanging on to the old knacker now and saving £6/7K.

probably just right to.
ive a 1200 rallye and 300exc so the 790 will just fit in nicely between the two

The 790 R order finalised today with AMS. Paid deposit a few weeks ago.

They've done me an ok deal including the Shifter/Blipper & Cruise so I'm happy.

Roll on Feb/March! :D
