790 Adv R looks incredible in the flesh. Started smiling just looking at it 
The thought crossed my mind that if you had a set of road wheels it might be the only bike you'd need. Then I realised I was hungry and not to be so stupid
I hope it's A). The right price and B). I can ride it how my head imagines I'll be able too (here's hoping).

Extended end of the day chat with a guy on the KTM stand. Very knowledgeable about the bike which was great.
The R will be near to 13,500 euro with the S 12,500 euro. I hope that's an on-the-road price! Don't shoot the messenger!
So it's going to be expensive
I reckon you could blow £13k buying one. Hardly surprising though - Honda have launched their CRF 450L and that's a glorified single cylinder dirt bike. No where near the tech on the KTM.

I quite agree. I won't be waiting though, not this time.
Life goes by quickly and waiting a year to get a bike I know will suit plans for the year ahead would be a bad decision.

Not sure he’s giving you accurate info , especially if he’s giving you a price for an R and S version. What is this “S “ version ?

Wow … I wonder how many 790 Adventures they are goin to sell at that price now that KTM have dropped the price of the 1090 R to £9999
Slip of the tongue probably especially when people speak of the 1090, 1190 & 1290 Adventure in S & R variants
Indeed … some dealers punting out 790 Dukes for £8000
You have to pay over £9000 for a 2019 Ktm 4stroke enduro bike now so by rights it should be a fair bit more?

If I did REALLY want a bike for a particular trip the price would be far less relevant, generally I look for a great deal, but if the Mrs sits on one at the bike show and declares she wants it then my beloved 1190 will be thrown out onto the street in favour of the 790, just like our 1090 is being booted out to make way for the 1290R....
...if it is not deemed so important I will wait until the 790's appear to be piling up at the end of the KTM production line and get one on a "Deal" - the trouble is for folk who really want one is that they might never get the bike they want.

I've rarely sat on a bike that feels this right. Your trip to the NEC will be an expensive one I suspect.
