Seems Boxerlust falls into that category.
As for the road riding skill and ability to read both road and traffic conditions, I used to think I was fairly handy but have been humbled on a number of occasions by our very own Spareparts. That's whether we were both on our GS's or him on his hotrodded Ducati 1098R and me on my tweaked MV F4 312RR. He is just plain fast on the road when the fancy takes him.
I still think I could take him on a track though

But even he sees only taillights on the track.That is the beauty about motorcycling.You always learn and even the greatest like Rossi is just another A-group track day rider compared to a guy like Marquez...
And yes on the road the 1250 GS is enough for any 1290SDR...I stand by my words ! Of course on the Autobahn the SDR will do 169 if your neck is strong enough while the BMW gives up at 139...But we talk about backroads here.

No one gives a shit about what bike is faster. Really. We don't. You're comparing which tractor is faster. KTMs, GSes, they're all tractors compared to dedicated sportsbikes.

This yank is pathetic. It seems that all he has really wanted to do, is to attempt to take the piss out of KTM fans. To do this, he has again and again told us how the GS is the better bike than the KTM. Why on earth try to do this on a GS section within a BMW forum? The best part of this is, that even within the GS section, we are all disagreeing with him and thinking he's an utter retard. I don't suppose he'd get much feedback on a forum KTM... "My GS is faster than your SDR"... Can you imagine?!
I've suggested right from the start that he is a mediocre rider at best. I'm beginning to wonder if he rides at all? Certainly doesn't demonstrate much understanding of how to ride.

If you’re such a good rider, why do you keep riding the easiest bikes to ride your words)?
If you truly were as good as you say you are, you’d be able to ride a shit bike fast. Any clown can ride a GS fast, even me. But anything other than a GS or an RR, and you can’t handle them.
