2021 1290S

Ooh Arrow!! I emailed SC Project but they don’t have a timeline yet so the dustbin will have to stay a little longer - will take a look at the arrow offering though.

Enjoy the new 1290 - I love my R

I’ve ordered mine with the Akro can, pricey I know ;-)

I don't know if it's just me but I think the Akra for this model isn't a thing of beauty. Lighter no doubt. I doubt Arrow will make a good looking one either and I didn't like the Wings one for the last model. I'm going to try painting the stock one Black with TF1 ....maybe. I like the twin outlet design rather than the single designs.

Had a look at the end can on the new Superduke R, it’s half the size from the same engine. I wondered if I could have got one to fit the SAS before ordering the Akro. I guess it come down to where the cats are located in the system which dictates how big the end can is.

loving mine

Akrapovic are very well made but £1200!!! I'm hoping that the SC Project one is similar to the Rally one for the 790 R

Wings can is worth looking at. It cost under £500 for my 2018 1290SAS. Despite being Euro4 compliment. It came with 2 (different sizes) removable baffles. All in all 3 levels of noise tolerance can be achieved.

The size of the 1290 SD r like this would look fine.

The problem with Wings is even with Baffles in they are not considered road legal, when looking for my 2018 1290S I found very few CE marked exhausts - Arrow / LV / Akra are about the only ones.

Admittedly I have not been pulled and had an exhaust checked in my riding life, but with some places in Europe prepared to impund your bike over it I feel much happier having the correct markings ot keep Euro-Plod happy.

I’ve never been pulled either (France Spain Germany Switzerland) but thought had crossed my mind now we out of Europe

LV?? Sorry what brand is that?

Well I have nearly clocked up my 600 miles and I love this bike more and more with every mile - its the best bike I have had - including my 990's my 4 GSA's my one Tiger 800 and the countless others. Its so well balanced, so comfy, great for filtering, fantastic wind protection and I reckon its great to look at too - repeated visits to the garage to have a look are testament to that!. Today was a blast through the Peak District (family visit) then a bit of M1 on the way home.

Once it has some snarl burble and growl from the exhaust (Courtesy of Arrow in a few weeks hopefully) it'll be the perfect package. I just can't stop riding it.

Looking good.

Mines in for first service tomorrow. On the way there this eve to drop it off, when I started it, it threw a fault on the dash. Yellow engine symbol. Turned off and restarted but the light still on. Not sure what that's about but guess I'll find out.

They leant me this - 250 miles on the clock. 890 Duke. It's a hooligan bike. Engine is very sweet. Suspension seems very sorted indeed, which was quite a surprise as it doesn't look adjustable.
