One of Lyndon Poskitt’s proper rally bikes will set you back about £40k.

Just goes to show …

Bet it still comes in "Demo mode" at which point you get the wallet out at 1500km.

agreed but, same frame, same bodywork, same engine, same bhp, possibly all the electronic modes which is an 800 upgrade apparently, seems like suspension, exhaust possibly footpegs and thats about it for 22k in the uk still dont see the value in that

A genuine 450RR Rallye with one cylinder will set you back £30,000 if KTM will approve you….. to buy one from them

If you take a standard 890 R and add all the extras that come as standard it comes to £18k - the WP Xplor Pro forks and shock retail for somewhere north of £5k - in the UK the bikes were just slightly over £20k which yes I agree is a lot of ££ but for the last of the line (990 will come soon enough) and with how well they ride in gnarly terrain personally I really rate them

I rode one before it went to the Dakar and it was a awesome bike but I couldnt get my head around why it cost so much. Must be just me but £30k plus for an off road bike seems madness . Check out the cost of piston and rings its eye watering although if you can afford it why not

And that’s just a race rep. If you want the real deal, Lyndon will build you one for quite a lot more than that …
