im thinking £5495 im certain it won't be over £6k
Made the miserable journey to the NEC today for the bike show, 1st time in about 7 years. It really isn’t worth it, but RE did have the 450 on the stand. Looked nice, apparently price is announced on Friday.
I’d certainly consider one, if only I could think of something to use it for.

There's a little bit of good news on a miserable Sunday evening.
Delighted to read it.
I am definitely going to test ride one. In a few years when I retire I will do some long motorcycle trips.
I have the g650 xcountry currently which is excellent and hoping the re 450 comes close
Similar ilk, I would say. I think the guy said it had 200mm of suspension travel, looked well made. I’m not sure about the Indian Ceat tyres, but apparently they are specifically made for the Himalayan.
I’m sure they’ll be aftermarket options but it didn’t look well suited to throw over luggage like Mosko Moto

Possibly the most interesting pieces in the MCN video, come at the end.
1. Water cooling adds something to complexity. I can understand why they do it but it adds to cost.
2. Fly-by-wire, adds to complexity.
3. The most important bit…. Cost, possibly being inflated to cover the more ‘Up market’ nature of the bike. But, a price hike and the new upped BHP brings it into a whole new world of competion against other motorcycles and manufacturers. There again, Royal Enfield might be happy to let pundits talk the price up, or Royal Enfield might be preparing to announce a very competitive price, to slaaaaaaaay the opposition. Time will tell.

The new bike has moved into a different niche with more direct competition. As said, RE could choose to undercut the competition which would be a bonus for those teetering on the ‘buy now or in a year’ edge.

Itchy Boots seems to be proving it is.
Once you get over all the “It must have a shaft drive, it must have a large screen, it must have a big tank, it must have huge panniers, it must have, it must have…..” stuff, most modern bikes (and quite a few less modern ones) are more than capable of extended miles.
I think you can add at least £1K to that, I don't think its competing with the Triumph 400 or the KTM 390.
Also as mentioned above the options/accessories will be extensive, I'm assuming tubeless will be an extra for example.
My guess is between 6-7K as a base price.
I may well be a bit optimistic and I can see it possibly going to 6k . I think to charge £7000 you need a bullet proof bike and some history of doing so, which as far as ive seen isn't the case just yet. that's £500 more than a crf300rally slightly different market but something you can buy with almost 100% chance it will get you home everytime.
£6-7k not a chance.
The Honda CB500X is less and, whatever you think of Honda, it is a well established brand with a big selling model. RE are still aiming at the budget end of the market although wouldn’t be surprised if it’s priced at £5,900.

Agreed , maybe £5950. I think Triumph have spoilt their party with the 400X price, but the 452 is more of a bike hence the extra £500.
