2024 Himalayan 450

And here is another one in a Yorkshire (?) accent...

FFS , what is it with these northern idiots that start every greeting with ‘hey up’ ?

I’ve never heard anybody actually speak like that, yet this prick and that Stu wanker both do it.
Gave up at 2 minutes in when he completely mispronounced ‘ demonstrater’.

Surprised he didn’t have his whippet with him.

I phoned yesterday for a test ride but forgot I still haven't renewed my driving licence :( so will have to wait till it arrives . I wanted to have a look after waiting so long to see it so popped to Colchester Kawasaki . I was expecting a load of people crowding around it pulling in levers and scuffing the seat with boots, maybe a stand giving away keyrings and samosas . None of that just a lonesome himalayan salt coloured bike on its centre stand with no one about.
in the flesh the colour is pretty nice better than I expected and overall the bike looks better and felt better than I thought it would. lots of room for me at 6ft nice wide seat (why don't more do this?). tiny exhaust compared to most bikes but especially my xcountry .
looking forward to riding it, but very much doubt ill be buying one if I do like it , probably not this year anyway .
apart from the overall look (which im not a fan of especially the fuel tank ) there's not a lot to dislike by looking at it. the routing of the front brake line would be better coming straight down the left leg rather than bridging over just above the front mudguard and adjustable span levers would be nice .
oh and I found a black one downstairs I thought the gold colour was going to be more yellow but its very gold . probably my least favourite colour .

you can beat the original aint it a beauty :green gri:aidan

Not a bad review from Kate. But she’s no Itchy Boots off-road !

"A bike that'll tackle owt!". Sounds fair enough to me. I'll be trying one next Friday. :thumb Only 30 mins worth unfortunately but we'll see.

They have enough problems working out the name / details of (let alone insuring) the new 1300 in the UK, without getting involved with German Royal Enfields.

I’d start with DEGSer forum.

Nothing gets past 'quicker than lightning' Mark Pulling. After an hour with the bike he finally noticed it has no rear brake light and that its integrated into the indicators. He is everything that is bad about youTube reviewers. Boring, uninformative, tedious and very unoriginal.
He's not my favourite YouTube'r but without guys like him and uncle Stu and many others like them, average Joe blogs wouldn't get a feel for a new bike before a test ride. I couldn't do any better than them for sure so I cut them some slack as they are mostly decent and honest.

New 450 Himmy looks an extremely well thought out bike and brilliant value. I like the simplicity of RE bikes and considered at some stage having a 411 Himmy for pottering about on.....the 450 looks a fair step up and I think being able to cruise at 75 on longer trips will be a big selling point over the 411. Think this will be a star for the serious RTW gang 👍

A test ride lined up for next Tuesday. Be still my beating heart. Will it be a cracker? Will the wheels come off? Will I make it past the M25? Will it be……. Awesome?

Adios 411.

Himalayan Salt colour for his Wappingness

Heading down to Dumfries on Friday for a test on the awesome bolide. (My local dealer hasn't got a demo bike cos they ain't due until May or June pal. :augie )

Saw on Facebook this evening that my local dealer has their demo in today so will pop along and take it out in the morning at some point.
Proper old school (opened in 1887 !)no running licences through computers etc. They don’t even ask me for mine anymore.

might be something to do with Chris Northover being involved in initial development of the bike and giving RE plenty of usable advice…

Made in India, ‘nuf said. It’ll be sh*t! Anything that is made outside of EEC borders, usually is. My mate says so.
Mind your beating heart…
