2024 Himalayan 450

Doubt I’d buy much - maybe the rally seat for off road. I love the minimalist design. Dry bag on rack would be it for me. Maybe small SW Motech tank bag. Less is more when travelling. Definitely not metal boxes - would look like a bastard step child of my GSA!! 🤣🤣
……….and maybe better looking mirrors! 😬

Now over 1k miles and getting 89 mpg through Germany. Just as well given ARAL autobahn prices!

Why are you filling up at motorway services? You should be able to work it so that you fill up in the evening ready for a quick departure next day then do the same again when you find a small town to eat in at lunchtime.

Maybe, as a true Scot, he is just noting the prices, shaking his head in disbelief at the cost and the poor rate of exchange between the Scottish pound and the euro?

Just dropped my Hima 452 for the first service. First time on the Autobahn (M-way). After 500 km it is almost totally vibe free from 5000-6000 rpm now at speeds from 110 to 125 kph. Like the tester and others reported it had strong vibrations from 5000-6000 rpm when i first rode it. I would say now it is a pretty practical motorway rider. Very stable and responsive well beyond 130 kmh (80 mph). compared to the Continential GT Twin I got as a loaner for the day, which is extremely sensitive to the slightest gust of wind (but has an excellent engine and gearbox etc.)

We had to do a couple of long autobahn hauls to start with. It was easier just to fill up. Fear not, we'll be sniffing out better prices from now on. (Currently in Rugen for two nights then headed for Berlin.)

This is worth a look , I have posted in well being on a separate thread

375 miles in total on mine this week, so ready for its first service. They said if I went a bit over it wasn't a biggy.

Really enjoying its character, no complaints on how it rides at all. Suspension and handling are exceptional and feel far from budget. Mpg is now around 77mpg, full waterproofs on today so I was the aerodynamic efficiency of a barn door. The dealer fitted heated grip on the throttle side seems to have twisted round so will need looking at. Ceat tyres are good on the road I don't think they would be much cop off it, rained most of today, even so I felt they were confidence inspiring. Standard seat is comfy for me no urgent desire to get off the bike at any point, and I have done 175 miles today.

I was in my local dealer Appleyard Keighley for bikes 1st service today.

They have an unregistered Kamet White Tubeless in stock in the showroom and available now, nothing in it for me just thought i would mention incase anyone looking.

Sales chap is called Keiran.

€2.30 I point blank refused to pay it. I sooner loose 10 minutes of time and come off the motorway to refuel.

Isn’t Belgium still the cheapest place for gas?
Luxembourg is the cheapest, also as was noted in Austria. France is a right ripoff in some places, as is Germany, latter still being cheaper by way of comparison.

my heated grips are getting swapped for the slightly longer 130mm ones (ultimateaddons). First service today was £170, mostly labour at 1.5h, although £12 plus vat was added for a numberplate  the oil and filter were buttons, an annual service (up to 6k miles) will maintain the warranty was told.

Bike of the year

NegNChips will be upgrading from the TenaLady soon.
