That's good; did'nt know you could shift the footrest around; :beerjug:

They feel bloody grippy so far
Make sure they are scrubbed in before you work them hard

Mine this morning for the first couple of miles were like riding n a diesel spill

Ive never known tyres so slippery when new but its the first time I have used Bridgestones and the fitter did warn me and he was right

They are great now BtW

Won’t be working them that hard over here !.
But I’ve had the bike a few days and done 130 miles or so.

A few thoughts .
It’s bloody brilliant-puts a smile on my face every time I open the garage door.
Never had so many people looking at a bike whilst you ride.
It’s not comfortable but neither is it uncomfortable as such.
I’ve got a nerve issue in my groin/legs which I certainly felt on the Tracer. Not so much on the Wing as it’s bloody comfy and haven’t really felt it on the GP as I’m supporting my body more through my arms than lower back.
It is quite wristy, though nowhere as bad as the R7 was but it’s very spacious for me at 6’1”, especially now I’ve put the pegs on the low position.
At town speeds you feel it on your wrists but above 50 ish it’s very comfy (not that I’d know, officer )
It’s probably a bit quieter than the Tracer GT+ even though it’s got a full Akra system. It does start to bark a bit in higher rev range but I’m trying to be sensible and not gun it too much just yet.
The motor has so much grunt-which I already knew, but it feels so much lighter than the Tracer.
Loads of front end feel and the handling is better than I’ll ever need or get near any limit.
I love the view from the seat-so different to the usual bland look of many bikes

I put in a short route into StreetCross on phone tonight .
Pressed the Nav button via joystick and route was there immediately.
I rode the route and took some wrong turns on purpose and it immediately re-routed just like any other Garmin nav.

The display is small but big enough to follow.

You can plan and save routes but waypoint entry is really only by typing in addresses.

It’ll be fine to route from A to B to C to D but I’ll probably use phone and MRA for complex routes if I do any on the bike..

Really need to take it off the island but only just back from 2500 miles on Wing around Europe and next trip is in September to Picos and that is planned on new Himmy when it arrives.

Need to try sneak away on it at some point .

So to sum up, I’m bloody loving it so far. It’s a bloody bargain I think .
Cost me under £13k (no VAT) and that’s with full Akra system, fairing lowers (due July), tail tidy and heated grips .

Bet it’ll be a number of mags Bike of the Year 2024.

Certainly deserves to be.

Go try one . You’re never too old

Neeves and MCN wind me up when they do this - moaning about bumping into the ABS or having to jack the pre load up to do whatever the track day gods want

Its a great bike and beautiful so they should just stick with saying that because no one will buy that bike purely for track days so that is all irrelevant

Yeah but watch the full vid. They do state it’s not built as a track bike.

I did and yes they do and thats the bit that winds me up with them, they should praise the bike for what it is and what is good at not dig into it for something it isnt

I never understand this fascination with seeing how good a bike is on a track - an environment not many owners of any bike will actually go

I guess we viewed it slightly differently. They did comment on its limitations but stressed it wasn’t an out and out track bike . Anyway, good to see it on track .

yes maybe and maybe im at fault as the thought of a track day does nothing for me

I bet that is brilliant on road though and loads of fun

I saw one on the road today, it looked stunning, nice and tight and compact. Whoever the guy riding it was, he was tucked in and giving it a big handful. It had an Akro on and I was struck by how quiet it was, probably quieter than my Tracer 9 GT+ with stock exhaust, but still very pretty!

Agreed. It is quieter than the GT+.
Might get a Hilltop tune and decat it .

The gentleman's sports bike summed it up nicely!
Yamaha seem to have hit the Goldilocks spot in every department.

Said it before, but Yamaha are top Japanese brand once more.
