I've managed to get this years premium slightly cheaper than last year. £327 (with £1500 of luggage & £500 of lights declared), down from £356 with Bikesure/KGM underwriter. My renewal with Ridersure/Aviva (i think was the underwriter) was £477. That was pretty much the lowest price, without going with one of those 'too good to be true' quotes. KGM were the underwriter supporting all the brokers (MCN/Bikesure/BMF etc)

However the insurance did not come without some odd questions! My previous years quote from go-compare, re-ran this year using the same values as last year (annual mileage, Bike value, accessories etc). So the underwriter questioned "why did you quote for 12K miles, then 10k miles?", "Why did you value your Bike at 7K, then 6k?" After explaining that, there were no issues or changes in premium.

Given that mileage is a rough estimate (i covered 10,400 last year) and Bike value is not an agreed payout value - they seem odd values to query, given they are still relatively close and not miles apart!

Had something similar had a ins quote for the car and put in 40000 miles by mistake which made the quote expensive.
I them corrected to 4000 and purchased the policy. Several weeks later I received an email queuing why I quoted fir 40k miles then purchased 4k miles.
Everything online will and can be used against you.
