2025 KTM 390 Adventure

I sat on one of these yesterday. It felt
Ike a good quality bike and tge ergonomics for me at 5’ 11” were really comfortable. Felt like a proper sized bike rather than a lightweight compromise.

Rally raid reflector replacement bolts with what looks like unfinished milling for the allen key (so you can't get your allen key all the way in).

Auto Engina (Indian made) rack after one trail ride with Lomo bags attached via straps.

Well that's a minor result, Rally Raid sent me out some new bolts to replace the ones shown above, and Ebay has found in my favour for the rack and refunded me the cost of it as the seller ignored their requests to make contact with me. 👍

Be interested in your/others views on vibes with the new map. I hope that's just your imagination!

What phone mount have you used? Looks neat enough.

I'll keep you updated about the vibrations, as you say hopefully its just getting used to it.

The phone mount is a combination of the KTM part for the GPS bracket - A61012992044 | 62.58 GBP and a Quadlock wireless charging head which means I can just run a short lead from the bike USB-C port to the charging head. It puts the phone in a perfect position, albeit I've taken the vibration mount off as this doesnt work very well when the phone is 'hanging' from a mount rather than being on the bars and more flat. I'll take the risk if it stuffs the camera. The GPS bracket does leave a slight gap at the back of the dashboard, but as its a KTM part I'm taking it on trust this is OK and everything is waterproofed in there.

I've contacted KTM using that form you suggested and obviously got the same reply 👍.

Just been told that the cruise control kit is here ready to fit. I'll get the latest map at the same time. Then
all I need are more hours in the day to get out on the thing.

Just got my £500 Voucher for clothing/powerparts. I will get a quote for spare wheels at the weekend as quite like the idea of running the OEM tyres for longer journeys.

Seat Height.
I am finding conflicting information about the KTM390 Adventure 2025 seat height(s). Most of the KTM marketing material i have looked at seems to miss off the seat height(s). There always seems to be every other specication "number" .
My understanding is that the 2025 Adventure X is 825mm and the Adventure R is 870mm .
Is that correct ?

Not watched it yet but it might give an insight if he involves KTM techs

I think we are a small audience on here, but whatever you do, don't order the front headstock stand for the bike (part 69329965100). It is not compatible despite the KTM website saying it is. The stand is far too low to insert into the headstock hole.

Also why do KTM not provide instructions 🙄 .

He's just had the new map installed, it solves the issue. (I havent watched it either, but I told Judd there was a new map after seeing Nathan's comment which they weren't aware of but checked and updated on my bike). I suggested Judd might want to reach out to existing owners, especially 'vloggers'.

As I understand it the current 390 Adventure has only been produced for a few months and I can see that the R variant has been available in the UK.

Obviously buyers of the new bike are not happy at the sudden £500 price reduction on the Adventure R but clearly at least two people have had £500 KTM vouchers as some recompense.

Anybody, with appropriately long legs, who was dithering about buying a 390 Adventure R will surely jump in at the new bargain price.

My interest is the X variant.
The 390 Adventure X variant doesn't seem to have made it to the UK, yet, but has been on sale in India.
Apparently an X plus has surfaced in India with the six axis IMU electronics.
The Indian folk that have bought the X are complaining that a revision has come out so soon and nobody has contacted them about a retrofit upgrade.!

Maybe the X will never actually get to the UK and it will be X plus versions that go on sale !
Who knows what KTM will do next

The adventure X is available in the UK, look on autotrader 👍 Laguna in Maidstone have an adventure X version in the showroom for sale at £5399 I think. Been available for several weeks.

As @Frankh says, its in dealers now, for example :

OK, my bad, the value of Facebook is that someone might know the answer, and in this case someone advised that the stand might be telescopic (there were a couple of grub screws on it).

All sorted now, in my defence, KTM should give instructions with their parts, and I've not used a headstock stand before. Stand is perfect 👍.

Wheels next I think, front wheel is just under £500, rear is just over £500 and then both rear and front discs to order. This will let me have the OEM tyres on one set that are more 50/50 and the more aggressive tyres on a set of wheels for trails.

thanks; my "local" dealer doesn't list it.

So an R at £700 more than an X seems to make the R more attractive ------ or the X less attractive - dependent on leg length !

In my defence there are absolutely no UK reviews of the X --- which supported my belief.
None available from the UK usual suspects . Carole Nash / Bennetts/ MCN , not a word ---only earky commentary on the spec'n.
The youtube reviews ex India completely conflate models so are almost worthless.

I agree about the differential in price, was hoping they would drop the price of the X version too, appears they have not.
The X suits my needs, I prefer the look, prefer the tyres, and it is more than capable of the type of “off road” that I would attempt. 👍 I would still buy the X version.

the X with the TFT screen, six axis IMU functionality and ideally the same suspension adjustability functions as the R , leaving heated grips, cruise control and a quickshifter as options -- makes sense to me.
It is odd that none of the usual suspects have done a riding review of the X -- they all just did a commentary on the specification -- meanwhile the R has lots of ride reviews.

That's the Christmas decorations sorted...
