2025 KTM 390 Adventure

"He seems to have warmed to the bike."

Funny that. 🤪

I'm not going to bother with a filter that 'allegedly' knocks off 0.2 seconds to 60 but also needs cleaning. You'll have to buy the cleaning solution and the oil and the faff of doing it. Used to do it on dirt bikes, but for the number of miles I'll end up doing I'd rather buy the paper ones.

That's saved me some money, I had assumed an oiled filter would be an 'upgrade' but bow to your greater experience. I wasn't motivated by 0.2 seconds either :DD

Sure the filters are great and had a few myself. I got one for the Honda 300, but then did 2000 odd miles and sold it for this. So the idea of saving money in the long run didn't work :blast

My friend has just bought one.

He has just returned from it's first ride through some awful bogs; he likes getting dirty.

Didn't have a stalling problem.

It is very new though - only delivered last week.

It's likely if he has only received it in the last week or so it would already have had the update.

neither marc nor his "friend" in the 28days for India videos had any problem with the stalling that many others have had.
i did wonder if the Adventure X had a different map to the Adventure R -- but the recall suggests otherwise.

It looks like Barkbusters will be available shortly 👍.

To combat the lack of handguards, I purchased the KTM flip up levers a while ago, but was procrastinating putting them on as you have to punch out a bushing on the brake lever and re-use it (freezer for 20 mins then using a small socket to whack it out worked thanks to advice given).

Hopefully when I drop the bike they should help make an immobilisation less likely.

Also had my first rideout today with the bars moved in the headstock to 1 of 3 positions. There are 3 positions and its in the middle position by default, then you can additionally spin the raisers to change it a couple of MM either way, it's quite a smart design. The aim is to give a bit more room especially when standing. I may need to put it back to the middle position once barkbusters are obtained, but we will see.

It looks like the tail plate is 30mm???? clear of the seat . Why would it be designed like that ?

Indian options better for similar prices ??

That looks awful, the Rally Raid one is the most aesthetically pleasing that I've seen so far, and the Mosko Gnoblin mounts perfectly on it (once you chop the bolt down a bit). Also the Rally Raid one weighs 950 grams with fittings, although I havent checked that, suspect its more likely a bit heavier than that but its no where near the 9KG of this. Admittedly it doesnt have the side brackets but my experience with the terrible quality of the Auto Engina Indian made rack means I'm very happy with the Rally Raid option.

I agree with his point of keeping weight down, which is why I just want soft luggage without additional metalwork. As the Mosko 40 Reckless has its own support structure I dont think it needs anything more than the Rally raid rear rack. (accepting the Mosko luggage is relatively expensive).

i agree that the Rally Raid tail rack does look a really neat fit.

I can't figure out how the Mosko Gnoblin clamp thing works -- i get it that one piece bolts to the tail rack and i guess another piece fastensbto a cross strap somehowe --
but how do the two parts lock together ?
does the cross strap stay on the bike when the bags come off ??
