I didn’t think it was possible to take over a PCP contract.. and I’d be amazed if the final payment could be haggled as mentioned above as it will be on the finance companies books at the GMFV rate ..

Best option if PCP can be changed is to ride it and hand back at end of term I suppose…

In fairness I’ll never get to the 4000. It very much a Sunday morning bike, but it’s a lovely thing to ride. There’s a very old pub up on the downs about 15 miles away that has car and bike meets through the summer. It’s the Bell at Aldworth, been in the same family for several generations.
Great place - people turning up with “classics” that it turns out they’ve owned since new!
Lovely bloke there last year on a cb750 from the 70’s he’d had from new and a frequent visitor is a bloke on an old K who brings his dog in the tank bag!
Love that pub, and it’s located in a fabulous area if you want access to a network of smaller and quieter routes.
Bikes Sold if that’s what we call it pending the usual discussions with finance company . I can post more information as I find it out just for any other interested parties .

I cant say that mine does; I think that the suspension needs setting up on mine.
I was out on mine on Saturday and loved it. It’s a bit of a hooligan bike but not at silly speeds. Yes the suspension does need setting up to make it work as it should. I wonder if that’s the reason people are not riding them.
Mine seems ok, but I can’t find any recommended settings anywhere. Might phone Crazy Horse as that’s where it will go for its first service, as I’m never going back to Southdowns.
Berin, I would recommend Krazy Horse at Bury St Edmunds, got mine from there and they have been great.
Having been a Norton dealer since the early days of the 961, they know the bikes very well and are one of the few dealers that Norton allowed to do the starter ring gear recall this year. They have worked with TVS on several pro)ects and are well respected.

Yes you should have it set up. Best £40 you can spend.
I wanted mine set up to feel what correctly adjusted ohlins would feel like. And I find it really really good.

Yes, I had a friend who had an early Garner era 961, when dealers were few and far between and the bikes were much more, err, idiosyncratic.
He said they were very good.
However, Bury St Edmunds is about as far away as the moon! I was thinking of the Oxfordshire outpost, not too far and quite a nice ride
So a quick update , that’s it all done ten days in total.
New owner from the parish.
Initially phone CA Finance and they send some forms .
If accepted you pay £120 Admin fee, (the purchaser paid this and I return the admin fee on collection of bike )
Direct debit forms come though couple of signatures and return .
Today revived an email no more payments will be taken from me and access to the account removed .
Pretty painless .
New owner from the parish.

Even if you lived as far from Bury St Edmunds as you could in South Oxfordshire it's only 130 miles away. FFS it's a thousand cc bike and a 2 and 1/2 hour ride. Go on. Walk on the wild side.
