2025 Yamahas now have 3 year warranty

My Suzuki Jimny has a perpetual warranty, as long as it’s dealer serviced.

Wonder if they’ll bring that to their bikes?
Dear lord I would never have put you as a jimney owner Richard!!

KTM were offering lifetime warranty if the bike was main dealer serviced on time. Maybe they were banking on the extra income from servicing to plug the hole in their coffers 🙄

My 2023 V-Strom has a 7-year warranty as long as I get it serviced at the main dealer. This makes good business sense for Suzuki and dealers. But apparently, V-Stroms are "bulletproof" and pretty much immune from warranty claims, so...

Already here - 3 year normal warranty then up to another 4 years (70000 miles max) based on having services on their schedule (annual or 7500)

Good news or is it that the penny dropped that more years warranty = more dealer servicing.
Isn’t it the case that it’s not compulsory to have the bike (or car) serviced at a dealer as long as the work is done to spec and using genuine parts

not in EU and UK

cars and vans were included in the 1998 Block Exemption but bikes were not listed in the law.

Some makers will give this as a concession but they can insist on a dealer stamp to maintain the factory warranty.

Here's an article by John Millbank on the topic

As wessie says, it depends on the brand

Honda give a 5 year warranty in France, but only if you have the servicing done by a Honda dealership, unfortunately they have a fixed rate service policy which is way too expensive

I’ve started home servicing my scoot now that the 2 years minimum legal warranty has expired, it’s a gamble but it’s a Honda so I’m confident
