Dunno if I was in the market for a new bike and there was a local HD dealer then I'd at least give it a decent test ride. The current BMW offerings are expensive in comparison and not as appealing as previous models so would be happy to give the HD some consideration. The HD 1250 Ltd model in particular seems to tick a lot of boxes for the price.

A pal of mine in California has one and he's done 65,000 virtually trouble free miles in 2 years.

That's more than can be said for his 1250 GSA which he sold after 12 months because he just could not trust it!!

The only Harley I'd ever owned,I dare not test ride one because I'd have to buy one.

Reason I would not test ride it, I just know that I would like it too much.
I have a habit of buying bikes I test ride, so don`t do it often.

BMW R1300 GSA ?

The Pan Am is 299 with three box luggage .
The GSA is 269 without luggage .
Most ally panniers weigh 6-8 kgs so add that on and it won’t be much short of the Pan Am

I never even bother finding out the weight of a bike . I’d rather ride it and see how it feels Think my Wing is 360 ish but doesn’t feel like it.
