Here and there, now and then.
I'm getting one of these 2025-moto-guzzi-v7-sport-first-look-4-1024x683.webp

I've decided that due to my arthritic hips and knees my V85tt is too big for me. I've been struggling to get on and off for a while now. It saddens me as once I'm on it's very comfortable. When I first saw the V7 Sport with it's retro verdi Leg wotsit yellowy green colour I fell in love with it's looks. So I had a nice long demo ride from A+D motorcycles at Denbigh and was smitten. It certainly feels smaller and lighter than the V85, but it's so easy to get on and off. I was impressed by it's agility and mid range torque, and it's certainly fast enough for me. It handled the twisty Welsh roads with aplomb (i had to look that up)
I'm expecting to get it early June.
I'll have some 'oe' Moto Guzzi Urban Panniers for sale soon, a larger windscreen and some other odds and sods. I'll post as and when I strip them off the bike

Yes Mike I saw your video, it helped sway me. I actually mentioned it to the Paul the salesman. I like the people at A+D they are such a friendly and helpful bunch. They were very helpful when I had to take my V85tt in for service work.
It's a 120 mile round trip for me, but I'd rather give my money to them than MotoGB who have a Guzzi dealership about 10 miles from me.

I have bought two bikes from Paul and Sally they are first class. An old fashioned dealership with old fashioned customer care baked into them. Stu is a really nice guy as are the team in service.

I'm hoping I'll be able to fit some bar risers, with some pull back. An inch or so would make it perfect. According to Gutsibits they have some that will fit. A Hepco and Becker rack is needed for my pelicase as well.

I've not ridden one of the new V7 850s but all who have seem to really like them. It's interesting that some are trading in their Mandellos and V85s on them. I like the chartreuse colour Sport, looking forward to your thoughts about it in a month or so, Al. (y)
Mike I enjoyed your video a while back, your audio nicely captures the engine sound and your group's discussion was really brought out what the is.

Nice
I was speaking to 2 chaps in their early 70’s last week
Both were riding V7 850’s on cast wheels, with small slim alloy panniers (Givi or some such)
They loved them
Last year they had taken them to eastern Turkey (not far from Syria) on rough roads, down through the Balkans and Greece
This year they’re off to Morocco and maybe Mauritania
They said the bikes were superbly capable and all they’ve done is added a decent screen, handguards and crash bars, plus some decent aftermarket shocks & fork springs

‘All they’ve done ‘ ?

That’s some major changes . What’s wrong with the OE suspension?

That’s less than you usually do 😂

Alloy Panniers/frames and a screen

Handguards and engine crashbars

This was on earlier 24/25 V7 850 not this 26 new V7 sport

Just fork springs and some aftermarket shocks, for their usage in rough roads

Don’t panic….it’s their bikes not yours, so I guess they can do what they want ???

No?

They used them on 4-5000 mile trips to the furthest extremes of Europe, so far

No bother with them or mechanical breakdowns

I was earlier this evening speaking with a pal of mine who will only ride a Harley, he has hardly ridden any other brand. He thinks HD are the be all and end all of the motorcycle world. He's a member of HOG and I often take the piss about it, all good natured of course. Later this evening he sent me this picture. Is he trying to tell me something?

I really like that V7 Sport. I'd like it even more if it had the pokier 850 engine from the V85TT though. I'm surprised Guzzi haven't produced a naked version of the 1200 Mandello, surely there's one in the pipeline?

The V7Sport has a pokier engine and the Mandello is a 1000 not a 1200

Thank you, we were all really impressed with the bike I have been out on a V7Sport since then and my opinion is the same, this model the standout of the V7 range.

A&D currently have a red one in stock which is nice but not a patch on the Green

FatAL if your mate thinks Guzzis are for Oyster Bar chaps
this is Omobono Tenni aka the Black Devil so called because of his agression on a bike (and hair) in the 1930s

It's only slightly up from a std V7 though, quite a bit short of the V85. Why not just stick the V85 lump in the Sport? The rest of the V7 range can cater for newly qualified riders that need to restrict their bikes.

Will the Mandello engine make it into a naked anytime I wonder 🤔

Nothing that I could see. It handled my sylph-like body rather well, the suspension never bottomed out on the gnarly Welsh back roads, and cornered as if on rails on the faster smoother roads. If I was to take it regularly onto dirt tracks doing some very mild green laning I might be tempted to fit a bash plate, just for piece of mind.
