Hi, I've fitted a pair of 10W Led daylight driving lamps, aka DRL's, to my 2006 GS1200.
I've fitted 3 sets of these already to other bikes, all operated via a switch, and the front sidelamp circuit.
This time I've just removed the capless bulb holder, and wired in both lamps, into the loom. Everything working fine, no canbus errors or anything, they switch on with the ignition like the standard single bulb, only difference is I can't switch them off: but on my other bikes I never had any need to do so!
1.6A as opposed to 0.4A, I used 5A wire, all seems to be working, and a very simple job to do, didnt remove a single panel, there's a pair of waterproof connectots tucked inside the fairing, so I can still easily remove the crash bars, should the need arise.
I'm sure lots of people will say A/ it needs a relay and B/ needs a switch and fuse...but 1.6A ???

Could it be something to do with a delay in the canbus switching off? I have stuff wired into a fusebox triggered by the hella plug, they stay on for a minute or so before they shut down.

They are working perfectly: I made the post to see what people think. I didn't use a fuse or a seperate switch, in effect replaced the 5W sisdelight bulb with 2x 10W Led lamps :thumby:

No problem MWH, thanks for the input.
I really like these DRL's, very well made and are holding up well after several wet weather trips and 3 years use on the first bike. On my ZZR1200 and R1100RT I wired them through the side light circuit and a switch, but I never switch them off, so omitted it this time! Done a few hours on the bike now with zero issues or warnings on the dash, very easy and tidy job.
