Hi all,

If you get the Wunderlich 21" front wheel, make sure you keep the old mudguard. The one that comes with the kit is shite. This is after 40ks of corregations.

What GS have you fitted the 21" wheel to?

I have an 1150 GS Adv. which I would like to make more dirtworthy.

Regards, Jim.

21" wheel costs

The wheel cost AUD$3150 - not cheap. I have it fitted to my 05 1200GS. If you get one go through Motohansa - about a month to get here. I've found that the dirt handling is improved out of sight. For me, the biggest plus is the confidence it gives me in the front end. I find now that I throw the bike around like some light weight chook-chaser.

P.S.
If you want a hand fitting it - give me a yell. The instructions they send are in German. Bleeding the ABS was a bit tricky, but the rest is straight forward. I will be at the YNOT rally outside of Ravenshoe this w/end.

Original guard on 21"

The original guard fits like a finger in a bum.

Yowsers, thats a bit.....
We are of to Chillagoe this weekend to see the Crocodile Trophy (cycling)

Cheers

This isn't a wunderlich 21" front wheel is it? I though they had crossed spokes (tubeless). I think this is a wheel of a 80 or 100 GS on a 1200 hub with a wunderlich mudguard.

I would like to know for sure since I consider ordering a Wunderlich rim for my 1150 GSA, but if they're not crossed spoked, I could as well go for the cheaper alternative.

Anyone?

Saxess Rim.

photo is blurry, but it is inscribed with SAXESS (upside down). So I take it as being a Behr & Saxess Alloy Rim. I had a quick look for the company but was not able to nail one down. I've not had anything to do with brand name before, so am unable to comment on quality or so. If anyone knows more or has a link let me know.

I suppose then a gs guard with a 17" front, fits 'like a pr!ck in a shirtsleeve' :)
