260kph in 100kph zone - How much, how long?

Its a big headline offence, the Guards probably arrest a dozen drivers 3 or 4 times over the DD limit every weekend and it does not make headlines.
Just wondering can they charge 4 riders with one speed camera reading ? A RUC officer once let a bunch of us traveling in convoy off for that very reason.

I for one am interested in what penalty others think they might get and what they do................if anyone is running a book on the outcome I'll have a monkey on "a stiff talking to" at 10,000/1 i ...well you never know:augie
 
OK, I'd guess a thousand euro fine, 2 year ban, resit the test, no custodial. Depends on the judge on the day I suppose.

Having said that, I'm with GerryC on this one. Stones, glass houses and all that.

Have sped before and still do though perhaps not as excessive as these guys this time. Another Donegal GS'er even saw me getting a ticket outside Letterkenny before. First to admit it's wrong but it doesnt turn you into public enemy no.1.

If the two boys are from Tyrone surely they cant be done nor extra dighted if they dont turn up?

It's been on the news that......................


"Four men have appeared in court on summonses issued by the Gardai investigating allegations that four motor-cyclists reached speeds of 260kph in a 100kph zone last Saturday.

All four are acused of the same offence..............driving vehicles in a dangerous manner, including speeding, at Finner, Bundoran, on Sept 27th.
 
hey just wondering what was going on in donegal on the sat - sun 27th and 28th of sept with all the bikes..
