I want to upgrade my Compact Flash card in my 2610, currently a 256mb.

I bought the City Navigator Europe 2008 DVD, to upgrade from City Navigator V6, and want to put more maps on the unit.

What would you recommend?

Beware though, all units seems to work with a 2gb card, but only some will except one larger than that.

You'll get nearly all of europe with a 2 gb one.

Cheers for that, it has a sandisk card in it at the moment, is it better to get the same make?

I have a spare 1 GB disc if you want it :thumb2
It holds 875mb of memory of mapsorse or quite a lot of europe
If you want all of europe you need a 2 GB card at least

My 2610 works quite happily with a generic 2GB card from www.7dayshop.com - a tenner delivered. Kelkoo suggests you can get branded ones cheaper elsewhere http://shopping.kelkoo.co.uk/ctl/do...iteSearchQuery=CompactFlash+2GB&fromform=true
I've ordered stuff from MX2 before so the Integral one at £8.30 delivered looks a good buy, plus they do a card reader for £2.99 http://www.mx2.co.uk/default.asp?part=CFUSB

If you don't already have a card reader then get one. As you see, they are only a couple of quid. Uploading 2GB of maps directly to the 2610 via a USB cable will take forever.

Thanks again for all the info.
I`ve just tried to upload some new routes from the PC to the GPS and its coming up with "the routes do not match the maps" although i`ve got City Navigator Europe 2008 showing on mapsource on on the GPS.
I have only uploaded Scotland at the moment due to the small card and the routes are all well within Scotland.
I`ll try a bigger card and see if it helps

aaaarghhh!!!!!

Sorry to be a pain, but, is it worth paying the extra for the Integral Compact Flash i-Pro Card 1GB (40x) does the speed make a difference?

The speed rating is the speed that the card an be written to, no real relevance for GPS use that only reads in normal use.

I think 2GB is enough, but to get it all on... it'll have to be bigger. But when was the last time you went to half the countries in Europe....

BTW I have 4GB:D

BTW2 its 2.4GB all together

Richie,

Did you have any issues with your mapping? I have bought a 4gb sandisk to save all v9 mapping onto (2.6gb) But when I try to 'transfer to device' I get a screen message saying that only 2040mb is available :nenau

No issues, I bought the device off of here and have never checked that it is 4GB... I will do so today.....

(edit) Just checked, scandisk ultra 2 4GB all working fine... HTH.... Version 2008 but I don't think that makes a difference
