got all my mounts and power leads for 2610,and my autocom needs fitting so off i go fitting all the cables and autocom after a bit curse and swear routing all bits finally got the tank back on and then f--k loads of interfierence with the voice commands off the 2610 even when i touch screen its making a crackling noise.

autocom wired to a switched power source as before on old gs no problems.

2610 wired directly to battery + and - loads off noise have i got to wire it to another switched power source instead of direct source (just using on/off switch on gps to stop power sapping) as the autocom is rigged up or am i missing something here.

anybody got some ideas please

It sounds like you've got the usual hum loop. ISTR that there's a dedicated Autocom lead to address this problem.

Yep, Schtum's correct......don't know if it's the same lead as for the SPIII but I had the same prob with my old unit.......

Call Autocom, they'll get it out to you pretty quickly and they'll know exactly which one it is immediately.

re 2610

sent email to autocom as advised does this mean ive to pay another 24 quid, like i just bought the audio cable from garmin you would have thought garmin would know that the cables no fu--ing good cheers lads anyway

Thanks guys, I have the BMW Navigator 2 GPS on my 1200GS and have exactly the problem mentioned. I have contacted Autocom for help, I need a bike-powered solution within the next 24 hours for touring. Damn.

Can somebody clarify, is it the bike power lead for the Autocom, or the 2.5mm jack plug lead for the GPS audio output I need ???
