I have a Navigator II cradle (with the buttons on) the cradle has a plug on it with three wires, Red,Black & Purple. I need to wire the unit onto my airhead. Red and black will obviously be power + & - what is the Purple wire for?

I had to wire one on to the Storm, can't remember what it's for exactly but at the time my local dealer did tell me, it's something to do with an accessory on some BMW's, you don't need it for an Airhead. :thumb

Rob, the purple wire may be for the audio. If the Nav II is the same as the Nav III the audio out is via a 2.5mm socket at the bottom of the cradle.

Thanks Popeye.

The units all wired in and working with the Purple wire chopped. There is an audio plug in the bottom of the cradle but I'm not bothered about having sound.

I'm amazed how dated the 2610 looks now. doesn't seem 5 minutes since it was cutting edge with an amazing screen refresh speed.

Thanks for the help

You're right, the display has a totally different 'look' to a modern Garmin.

But they're still really configurable, and have a certain charm :augie
