The 2610 is now good to go and is working fine it seems. I have wired it up from the rear light along with the Autocom. There is a fair bit of ignition interference over the voice commands however. Is there an easy way to stop this? (OK disconnecting the voice is one way, I know!:D)

I think that you'd be better taking the power from somewhere other than the brake light. I know that it's what Autocom suggest but it's probably better to use a power source that's not used much. The horn circuit is a good one. Piggy-back off the horn fuse.

The Autocom satnav to Autocom audio lead has a huge suppressor midway along it's length, are you using that lead?

Errr .... no. Just the standard 3.5 mm mono which I have soldered to the green and white leads from the sat nav.

I have a BMW Nav II which is a 2610 with some additional bells and whistles. there's an audio jack-plug socket on the underside of the unit cradle, on the left. Does the 2610 have the same thing?

Nope. Don't think so anyway. The audio leads are in the same cable as the power leads.

I'd suggest that that's the source of your problems. It makes it more likely that the unsuppressed power lead is causing problems due to its proximity. More reason to take power from another source.
