I just bought myself a 2610, which came with the Garmin bike mount kit. The power cable included has an audio connector at the same end as the power connector that plugs into the back of the GPS.

I don't use the audio facility, and this extra socket is causing unwanted clutter, but rather than just cutting it off, I was wondering if a plain power only cable is available.

Also, if anyone has such a cable, would you like to swap it for the power+audio version?

Mouse .. the Garmin kit (010-10495-00) has a cradle plus P&A cable, the same is sold on its own.

I am unaware of a *branded* power only cable. I suggest a trawl into the US, such as Cycoactive or Cyclegadgets to see if they do a power only option, the problem is the power connector moulding which needs tooling.

Indeed, I thought that would be the case. I'm not massively fussed about this, I just thought it's a waste to destroy a perfectly good cable if someone wanted to do a swap.

I suppose another option would be to cannibalise a 2610 mains adaptor. Anyone got a broken one?

oi!! I asked first!!!

seriously powerlet do one - spotted it on net t'other night.
but needs to be ordered from the states.

If you want to sell your old cable I would be interested as looking for a cable for the car - not fussed with having the speaker.

If I find a replacement cable you've got first dibs on this one Gavin ... easy enough to fit a ciggy lighter plug or whatever required to the end of it.

Just found the Powerlet web site ... they only seem to sell a power+audio cable, unless I've missed something ... and it's $10 more expensive than the Garmin one! :(

Interestingly, Garmin sell the AC power adaptor for $20, buying that and chopping the cable off would seem to be the cheapest way of getting what I want!
