2610 power plug

Hi all
I've broken one of the little connector tabs on the plug of the power/audio lead that plugs into the back of my Garmin 2610 .
Has anyone any idea for a fix or should I just get a new one ? ?

Google time

The 2610 power lead was Garmin # 010-10495-02 lead only as I recall

Cradle and lead was Garmin # 010-10495-00

It's one of the tabs on the plug of garmin power/audio lead which is a
# 010-10495-02, I was wondering if anyone has ever done the same silly trick as me and bust one of the tabs and knew of a fix as opposed to going and buying a new lead from one of the many places they are available

If you have the car lead that should have come with the 2610, and you don't use it (it might still be in the box that you've stashed somewhere), then a bit of soldering iron surgery and some heat shrink tube should see you right.

Cheers Bumpkin ,that did cross my mind but I do still use the 2610 in the car and a new one of those is more expensive than the power audio lead, I have put a post in the wanted section to see if anyone has a power/audio lead stashed away that they no longer need but not having much luck.
I did buy a new cig lighter speaker thingy a few years back after breaking the cig plug end but I can't find the old one I can only assume I chucked it out, note to self "don't whizz things"

I just ordered one of those cables so as I can connect my 2610 to my XTZ660Z....if there's anything goofy about it I'll post details.

Now that's good value.

Before I order one of these ...

1. I take it the red and black wires I can see are the power cables?
2. Are the other two wires the audio connect?
3. If the answers to 1 & 2 above are "Yes", then is it simply a case of wiring the red and black to the battery or an aux power plug and then wiring the other two to a din / phono plug and connecting this to the Autocom, to get turn by turn audio?

If you're talking about the motorcycle lead, rather than a butchered car power lead; There should be a fly-lead with a jack up near the plug that attaches to the GPS, This is for the Audio out.

EDIT: Just looked back a page, it looks like a butchered car cable with the cigar lighter/speaker hacked off, you can still see the strain relief grommet on the end.

I'm pretty sure that the black and red are power, best to search the web for a m/c power lead installation sheet and hope that the colours are the same. Would look it up for you and provide a link but that's quite a task on a mobile...

If the above is correct then, yes, the other two will be mono audio for directions. However, it's quite likely that you will get GLI (Ground Loop Interference) to with two audio devices (GPS & Autocom) powered from the bike. Best bet is to try connecting the power lead to the same source as the Autocom.
