Apologies in advance if this is a totally dumb question :augie

If you cut the cable off a Garmin Mains Adapter (leaving the bit that plugs into the wall), could that cable be wired to a Hella plug and used on the bike..?

OK, I'm an idiot :blast

Don't see what not, the 2610 (unlike the Quest) runs of a 12v DC supply. I would be inclined to put a fuse-holder with a 1 amp quick blow fuse in the line though.

I doubt if the mains adaptor lead has the extra wiring for the audio feed though.

That's encouraging... so you reckon it's feasible?

I don't need the Audio feed, just power... :thumb2

DEFIANTELY

Yes

I did it a couple of days ago on mine, the bike power lead with the audio was worn on the plug that goes into the unit (the copper contacts) and cutting the power,I cut it off near the transformer and used the 2 wires to connect to the bmw socket near headstock (1200).

Used the worn connector on the transformer:thumb2
