2610 REGISTRATION HELP REQUIRED...

I am trying to register my 2610 as it failed qwhen I tried previously (about 5 months ago_)

Anyway when I try and register , I enter the registration code as requested but it keeps coming up with the error message "Error accessing the INternet - verify the connection and try again". Well the internet connection is just fine....

Any tips on what I may be doing wrong - This has been such a pain in the butt to do and winding me up

Email Garmin

I've had all sorts of minor niggles along the same line ( getting two s/h Garmin SPIII's registered in my name)

see attached below cut and pasted from another link within this site

If you contact Garmin and quote your details, name address e mail, garmin product code, serial number
They will change your unit into your name ( ITS FREE) and create you a Garmin account
They do want to know the last persons name & details to prove its not STOLEN
( if its second hand) but only you if its on first registration

Try an e mail to this lady, she sorted my Garmin woes out!

I had that trouble with VISTA and got a procedure from Garmin that I posted somewhere here a few weeks ago.

It involved editing the registry, but the instructions identify the lines exactly - then it is a case of re-installing.
